"A very poor website"
A very poor website. Does not meet intelligent customer needs. Not always sure the information about my data is accurate. Sometimes have to manually double check. Very sorry I transferred to them.

"Dreadful Website"
Since they "improved " their web-site it is very difficult to find anything.
Too much screen space is wasted'
A classic case of a computer nerd being allowed his way.

"SELFTRADE - watch your money disappear!"
QUESTION TO SELFTRADE : Can I sell 13000 shares in IAG airlines?
SELFTRADE ANSWER "no we can only sell 3900"
QUESTION TO SELFTRADE : "Why not?"
SELFTRADE ANSWER "We don't know"
QUESTION TO HARGREAVES LANSDOWN : Can I sell 13000 shares in IAG airlines?
HARGREAVES ANSWER "Of course sir, no problem"
SO WHY CHOOSE SELFTRADE?
A broker that tells YOU, when YOU can sell your shares. Not when YOU want.
Plus you get a massive staff ATTITUDE problem thrown into the bargain. Most are completely ignorant of procedure, greeted by the usual agressive customer service response from companies that DON'T CARE about their customers or their client accounts.
You have been warned...BE PREPARED TO LOSE MONEY when the share price goes down and SELFTRADE tell you, you can't sell your shares.
YOU'D THINK I was making this up, but why would I? I've been buying shares for 20 years and never seen anything like this.

"It used to be excellent then the screen…"
It used to be excellent then the screen was "improved", now it is very clumsy, lots of space filled with overlarge detail, symbols instead of names of companies in accounts. Too much screen space wasted, not a patch on what it used to be. Dr J.K.Cross

"Selftrade high buying prices."
Selftrade have recently bragged that their share prices are 'the best'
Today I bought RWS twice - just a few minutes apart - on selftrade at 383p.
In between these two trades I also bought RWS with Jarvis at a price of 381p
This price fiddle appears to be immoral / unreasonable / greedy.

"Poorly functioning website"
Unfortunately I have to share some of the poor and frankly unacceptable experiences of using Selftrade's website in its recent incarnation. I have used Selftrade for a considerable number of years and it's not often that I need to trade and it is usually only in ISA funds. However on each occasion I have needed to trade I've experienced an extremely frustrating, time wasting and poor user experience. Last Friday when trying to purchase three sets of ISA of funds, the website was extremely slow to update, unresponsive and when I did finally get through to the order screen I experienced error messages requesting that I contact customer services by phone, which I ended up doing to make purchases. To be fair I was contacted by customer services after complaining and it was acknowledged as an 'issue'. I'd also tried using three different Web browsers and went through all the usual checks like deleting history's etc but to no avail. This defeated the whole object of using the website as I actually missed the cut-off point for dealing for that day because of all the messing around. I then discovered that their secure email messaging system now doesn't function either. I telephoned again to check whether they had received my complaint but they had not. Today I also discovered that there was no means of downloading messages that are sent to my inbox other than contract notes, that open up in a separate window. This also seems like a major oversight. I also telephoned again to confirm this with Selftrade which customer services checked as being the case. I tried to use the secure messaging system again and even though I received an acknowledgement that the message had been sent, when contacting customer services they had not received anything.
Clearly there are some significant issues with the Selftrade website - this should be basic stuff - it should be a smooth, fast, efficient and effective customer experience, especially when dealing with financial matters. Unfortunately the experience has been exactly the opposite to date. I have raised these matters by telephone on several occasions now and there has been other issues with the website in the past which don't seem to have been dealt with as a matter of priority. I might suggest they change their web developers and start again from scratch as a poor web experience is the quickest way of losing business. I'm now considering moving my not insignificant investments to a platform that functions effectively. I hope Selftrade's technical team and customer services pay some attention to these reviews for the sake of their future business and other customers.

"It’s so annoying"
It’s so annoying to be forever told that problems with the new web site are down to my browser, my cookies or my whatever. I’m asked to send screenshots of what I see but it’s so odd that it’s only ever Selftrade that I get these problems with. I have to get basic data on stock I am interested in or am reviewing from Hargreaves Lansdowne before dealing on Selftrade Dealing itself has never been an issue for me but the rest of the web site just seems to be poor. I occasionally write secure messages asking about these problems but sometimes my messages aren’t even read for about a week which suggests they are not the most efficient. The old web site was dire and from my experience the new one is no better at all. Or maybe it really is my newish MAC or Firefox or Safari or Chrome or whatever. But whatever it is it seems ok on HG Lansdowne site

"Used to be a poor website - now excellent"
I have been a member of Selftrade for over 15 years. Used to be a poor website. Has now improved massively in the last year!!
A real pleasure to invest with all the information now available.
Also monitoring the account is a treat.

"Issues selling shares and no apparent cash safety net"
Disappointed that over past few months I've been unable to sell my shares over the internet due to selftrade not being able to connect me to a dealer/broker. This has happened a few times and on all occasions I had to phone them up to action the trade.
Also recent communication questions the safety of money held as cash in my account. Basically (from what I understand) there is only a Financial Authority safety net of 50k when you are holding shares. Once you've cashed (and planning to keep as cash for a while) you need to get your money out back into a bank, etc.
