"Part-restoration of faith"

The reply from Selftrade to my review of 17 November was initially unpromising, but further exchanges led to an actual human, non-pro forma, intervention by Tim Archer, the Brand,Content and Social Media manager.

He made some good suggestions, leading to the resolution of a problem about which I had been engaged for several weeks in correspondence with the Selftrade Customer Service Team (a misnomer, if ever). They seemed merely to be interested in pressing a button to spew forth one pro-forma platitude after another, none of which advanced the matter one iota.

So, thanks to Tim Archer and his team, my faith in Selftrade has been, if only partially, restored.

"Terrifying place to keep any money you …"

Terrifying place to keep any money you may have. Totally incompetent and I would have to wonder, criminal organization.
It's like dealing with kids in kindergarten. Many of the people answering the phone sound like they are not aware of what they're doing. The website has clearly not been created by anyone who has had any exposure to this kind of business before.
The 'improved' website allows one to get into an account sooner than the former 5 minute wait, however if you want to trade? Forget it! Horrific. They had somehow not entered my account information correctly after I informed them I'd moved over a year ago. They insisted that there was an issue with my bank in transferring funds? Not true. Don't they realize how unprofessional their attitude and behavior is when dealing with clients' money? Will they get it together before they're forced out of business as clients close their accounts?.
Don't send me a robotic response it just makes you all look more mental. I've already spent too much time with this craziness..... Spent hours on the phone with them. They're blaming my bank?? What? ...
They think they may have got the issue finally sorted, but I have to wait several more days to make sure this is true. Hopefully the money I sent will be found. Fees created due to their incompetence are never reimbursed. Hours on the phone from overseas waiting to speak to someone, never compensated. Amazing.
Meanwhile, when they answer below, they tell you to send info. to them on line.. and they then respond to the online questions you have by asking you to phone them! Haha! They are totally mad. If you want to send money out, you've got to get in touch by phone to someone who admits he has a different platform than the one clients have access to so he's able to over-ride the problem. ????? So depressing. I think my money has been transferred out finally and I can close the account.
Really, I hope management can eventually get this right and avoid freaking out any more innocent traders / investors by displaying such total ignorance.

"Why can’t Selftrade get the easy things …"

Why can’t Selftrade get the easy things to work.
I rely heavily on using the Virtual Portfolio functions.

Yet again this doesn’t work.

The new web site is as poor as the old one! But what has changed is the level of helplessness from Selftrade employees and the arrogance of senior management in thinking this is an acceptable way to operate this business.

Time it was sold or closed down.

"The website is almost same if not worse …"

The website is almost same as before if not worse save for some colour changes....
It makes me often feel like already missing the old version.
Apparently all that pre-launch notifications come down to useless spinning.
No material changes noticeable to longtime user.

"Appalling new website"

Appalling new website. Old one was clunky but new one is almost unusable. It doesn't make it easy to select a holding from your investments when you want to sell or add to it. No simple at-a-glance list of your holdings any more so you need to scroll down multiple pages full of detail you don't need to see in order to find the one you want. If anyone at Selftrade reads these reviews at the very least change your website to provide for customised views.

"Dreadful New Website"

Can only re-iterate the general consensus of views expressed about this travesty of a website. Having been with Comdirect, which morphed into Squaregain then Selftrade, at least the websites were tolerable. Then when it transferred to Equiniti the site looked like it had been created by 5 year olds (apologies to 5 year olds). Now it appears they've managed to get a couple of amoebas together to design it. No summary page. Messages more long winded to get at. Did they really pay money for this? Was already considering transferring my investments to another platform. This just will just confirm that decision. Anyone know how to give minus rating!!

"Still Utterly Appalling!"

I agree with every word of Mark's review which I will not bore you by repeating. Selftrade's is the worst financial website I have ever seen, ten times worse than those I was using nearly 20 years ago with a steam powered PC and dial up modem. It appears to have been designed by an 8 year old for his classmates who have birthday money to invest. I keep looking at it trying to work out if there is a proper desktop website somewhere because this mess is obviously aimed only at smartphones.

I only persist because they are sitting on a substantial amount of my money which I will be moving to a proper broker without delay. I just tried to view and print out my portfolio of about 15 holdings - so ridiculously difficult I had to give up! Customer Services are useless and have ignored my plea for help. I completely concur that they need to revert to the operable old system immediately to salvage what they can from this debacle.

Update: Further to the generic reply from Selftrade, which implies that all clients who absolutely hate their pathetic excuse for a website are simpletons, I will not be wasting any more time trying to figure it out or get in touch with them. They haven't reverted to the old system which worked so I am moving my account.

"The new website is useless"

The new website is useless. Instead of a nice succinct summary of ones dealing or isa ac., there is a long scroll down process which contains no more information than the old one page summary. Similarly, adding up ISA dividends will be vastly more time consuming. Such a pity as I found the previous site and service generally quite good. Now the search for a more user friendly platform for myself and the other family members whose portfolios I manage.

"Selftrade seems to be in meltdown today"

The site seems to be in meltdown today. Very slow to log on. Impossible to trade; no help or advice on the site about the switch from the old format to the new. I called and was told their servers were rebooting and everything would be OK 'hopefully tomorrow'. 'Hopefully' just isn't good enough.
