"Disappointed with service and stairlift "
Ordered a stairlift for my grandparents, everything went well with initial appointment promised a date for installation. Was told on the morning of installation that there was nobody to fit the stairlift, would be another weeks wait for it fitting and we couldn’t receive our money back however could receive a small deduction of price. After fitting, the stairlift lasted 2 weeks before breaking down, engineer came out and recommended not to use it until it had been fixed, however they had no date for when the part would arrive for it to be fixed. After calling for an update I was told the manager would call me back which they never did. Grandmother rang again the following day and told them it needed fixing asap as my grandad was having to sleep downstairs because he couldn’t manage getting up and down the stairs, to be told by the manager “well how did he cope before”. Disappointed with the service we’ve received after all the promises made before payment was taken, I feel guilty that I recommended this company to my elderly grandparents.

"Difficulty requesting a service "
Sadly I have been requesting a service for my mothers handicare stair lift for months. They don’t reply to the request form at all. They don’t phone back when they say they will. Part of the guarantee is a service and the recommendation is yearly. 2 years after the stairlift was fitted, no service has been attended to.
On the other hand when the stairlift broke down leaving my mother stranded downstairs, the engineer came out within the hour and repaired it.
The staff are very friendly, but the problem is they are too busy to book service
appointments.
To update and to be fair and open
Today I finally got a call as promised yesterday and have a day booked in March for the service.

"Shambles of customer service "
We used Handicare 4 years ago to install a Stair Lift . They messed up the initial fitting arrangements so badly they had to significantly discount the price and offer extended warranty. We used Handicare as they were strong on service after the initial installation. How wrong we were. Yesterday we wished to report a fault. We couldn’t get an answer on the customer services number and were pointed to the website to register for a call back . We did so explaining the situation marking it as urgent. We were duly called back not by customer services but by a salesman trying to sell an extortionately priced four year parts and service Warranty explaining that if we did so we were likely to receive a quicker response to our service request. When we said we didn’t want a Warranty he dropped us like a stone and handed over to customer service . They explained that they had a shortage of engineers and wouldn’t be able to visit for three days. When I said that wasn’t really acceptable I was greeted with ‘ it’s not my fault’ we give priority to Warranty holders and that she had other calls to take . Charming ! The only good thing I can say was that they gave me the number of a local company .

"Excellent Product Although Initial 'Teething' Problem"
Excellent service from the moment I made the initial enquiry to installation of the stairlift, which in total was around 10 days. The survey was explained clearly to ensure the product met my Mum's needs and the installation was completed in around 3 hours.
We did, however, encounter a fault with the stairlift 24 hours after installation and, whilst this was cleared on the day of reporting, it did spoil an otherwise excellent experience.

"Very efficient service"
My stairlift was installed within about four weeks of ordering - it might have been quicker had it not been for Christmas in the middle of that period. Installation took just a few hours, everything was thoroughly explained, and I am now very much enjoying using it.

"Failure to repair faulty stair;ife"
We reported a fault with my wife's stairlift. The phoneline is always busy with very long waits. Reported the fault online Eventually a man came and said he had repaired the fault. within two days the faut had recurred. I reported this again online before Christmas. No contact. Phoned again today (14 January) After 15 minutes wait, the call was answered and the receiver was immediately put down.
I have requested a callback again.
We are having to use the stairlift as my wife is disabled but it is not safe as the footplate does not work.
We paid over £600 pounds for a repair and service contract and are very dissatisfied

"Excellent Service"
Representative Sacha Bellas was courteous, very knowldgeable, spent a great deal of time with us and explained things in a way which was easy for the layman to understand.
