"Passage to India - tour guide ruined experience "

While we had some wonderful experiences during our trip, I feel it is important to share some significant concerns we encountered, which affected our overall experience.

Firstly, I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the Golden Triangle portion of the tour, particularly with our guide, Karun. Unfortunately, his behavior and remarks made both me and my mother, who are Muslim, feel deeply uncomfortable. During the tour, Karun made inappropriate comments and jokes about Muslims, including a highly offensive remark suggesting that Muslims learn to be terrorists in school. Such comments are completely unacceptable and disrespectful. As paying customers, we expected a professional and inclusive guide who would make every member of the group feel welcome and valued, regardless of their background.

We also noticed a stark difference in how Islamic and Hindu sites were approached during the tour. At Islamic sites, such as the mosque we visited, we were merely dropped off and told to return in 15 minutes, with no detailed explanation or engagement. This contrasted sharply with our visit to a Hindu temple, where we were given an in-depth tour, encouraged to sit with those praying, and fully immersed in the experience. While the Hindu temple was beautiful and enriching, we couldn’t help but feel that the same respect and effort should have been extended to Islamic sites. For instance, visiting a mosque during prayer time and learning about its significance could have provided a richer and more balanced understanding of India’s diverse religious heritage.

Another major concern was the dining arrangements. We were repeatedly taken to very expensive restaurants, including one that resembled a nightclub. At these venues, we were often encouraged to stick with a set menu, which was not only overpriced but also insufficient, particularly for vegetarians or those who do not consume dairy. Sharing food with strangers also made meals uncomfortable, as it left many unsure of how much they could eat, yet we were still paying a lot and often leaving hungry. These dining experiences felt neither authentic nor enjoyable, and we believe the choice of restaurants should allow more flexibility and reflect local cuisine, offering travelers a genuine taste of India while accommodating different financial and dietary needs.

Additionally, the repeated visits to expensive marble, carpet, and jewelry shops detracted from the experience. Many in the group felt pressured to make purchases, which was upsetting to witness. Travelers should have the freedom to explore markets at their own pace rather than feel obligated to spend hundreds at high-end stores.

On a more positive note, the hotels were lovely and clean, and our driver was excellent—always respectful and professional. Following the Golden Triangle tour, we were fortunate to have Aryaveer as our guide in Udaipur for a day. He was knowledgeable, respectful, and engaging, and his approach helped restore our faith in the tour.

Lastly, I would suggest reconsidering the itinerary’s conclusion. Flying back to Delhi on the final day felt unnecessary and wasted valuable time. Many in our group felt frustrated, as ending the tour in a destination like Goa would have allowed participants to relax or continue their own journey home from where their tour ended independently. This change could greatly enhance the overall experience of your tours.

I share this feedback not to criticise but in the hope that it leads to positive changes. Experiences like ours can leave a lasting impression on travelers, and if not addressed, may impact future tourism. Ensuring guides are respectful, inclusive, and knowledgeable about all aspects of India’s diverse culture, while improving dining and shopping experiences, is vital to providing a welcoming and memorable experience for everyone.

These concerns were sent to Vijay (the main guide of our tour) but has yet done nothing with the feedback which is upsetting. But I just wanted to warn people because it is an expensive experience and I wouldn’t want anyone to be disheartened the way we felt disheartened.

"Road to Casablanca "

Our tour guide Aziz, was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and passionate about Morocco’s history, culture, and landscapes. He made every stop along the way feel like a unique experience, offering insightful explanations and answering all our questions with patience and enthusiasm. I also loved experiencing the local guides in each of the major stops.

Our bus driver was equally impressive. The roads through Morocco can be challenging, but he navigated them with remarkable skill, ensuring our comfort and safety throughout the entire journey.

Overall, this was an exceptional tour experience. Every detail was thoughtfully organised, and I left Morocco with unforgettable memories and a deep appreciation for its beauty and culture. Highly recommended!

"Cotswolds tour"

My family and I spent the day in the Cotswolds with James our guide for the day and had a brilliant experience. James was both knowledgeable and provided a relax atmosphere to enjoy ourselves. At the end of our tour we unknowingly left something on the bus. After contacting the company they located the item and arranged for us to collect. Thank you all.

"Welsh Wanderer (from London)"

I recently went on a fully organized coach tour to Wales with On The Go Tours and Rabbie's. I could not be more satisfied. The entire trip was handled flawlessly. Everything was well-coordinated, allowing me to relax and enjoy the experience without worrying about the details.

A special mention goes to our driver guide Russell, who was exceptional throughout the journey. His engaging storytelling and friendly approach made the trip genuinely enjoyable. Russell ensured everyone felt comfortable and involved, adding a personal touch that made a big difference.

I was also offered a discount for booking the tour during the off-season.

Thanks to On The Go Tours, I was able to truly relax and recharge. Knowing that every aspect of the trip was taken care of allowed me to fully immerse myself in my Welsh Wanderer experience.

Thank you so much! I highly recommend On The Go Tours to anyone looking for a stress-free, well-planned adventure!

P. S. I also want to thank Cheryl White (the manager) and Thembeka Bomi (from the support team) for their care and support in organizing everything.
