Ted is what you'd call a boss at customer service. He swooped in to make the situation right after a slight blip with the cashback calculation. I couldn't ask for a better email exchange and Rakuten is lucky to have them.

It used to be good 7 years ago… Rakuten has become greedy. They started charging maintenance fees with no reason. I’m done with this trash site. Usually doesn’t log payments have to follow up on cash back, and makes your wait 3 months to pay out (then you get charged maintenance fees each month of 5$!) it’s become a scam. To use my shopping data for the pettiest amount of cash back only to steal it in maintenance fees is atrocious. I’m not giving my data to Rakuten for free, BYEEEE!!!

Look elsewhere stop giving your previous data for free!

"Rakuten did not pay my cashback"

The cashbacks do not always work.

My most significant case is that I have a transaction for which Rakuten owes me close to 1,500$ and Rakuten does not want to pay because apparently they haven't received the commission from their partner.

I have provided Rakuten with a copy of the invoice, screenshots of my Rakuten reference number, my purchase confirmation number, etc...

I have explained to Rakuten that their issues with their supplier is none of my problem and that I have done all of the required actions to receive my cashback. Still, after close to 12 months of back and forth with their customer support team, I still haven't been paid.

This is very frustrating.

Note to Rakuten team: I am open to change this review if ever my cashback gets paid.

I have ordered over $10.000 with Rakuten and have only received 7.49. (for a years worth)
Some of the orders never went on Rakuten for a bunch of excuses and they wouldn't honor them even when submitted receipts.
TEMU has so many rules (read the void rules fine print) so you will NEVER make any on that. SUCH A SCAM I'm so done

I love Rakuten! I've been using Rakuten for about 1.5 years and have earned approximately $1500 (I do shop quite a bit). Rakuten promos certainly influence my purchasing habits. I have been burned a few times, once when the cash back increased significantly on the same date but they wouldn't honour the change from my time of purchase. I would certainly recommend this program though. Make money while shopping, why not?!!

I've been using Rakuten.ca way when, when they were called "Ebates"... and continue to use now. Why? Because it's clever, functional and it makes sense. Using Rakuten is a 'bonus' way to receive cash back for shopping... Now who can beat that?
