"United choice mover is nightmare"

United choice mover is scam, not trustworthy. Don’t use it.
We were quoted over the phone for $5500 including loading, transporting and unloading for relocating from California to Arkansas. When the crew came to pick up my staff, the cost was double to $10,465 for additional space. Finally, My staff was delivered in 21 days instead of the promised 10 days. We were asked to pay cash before the driver was willing to unload. The truck is 18 wheeler with 2-3 households boxes. Some of other family’s boxes were unloaded to my home. We told the driver they are not ours. There is a lot of damage to my boxes and staff because the rain/water leaked inside the 18-wheeler. My mattresses and several boxes are totally wetted. Mold grows on some of my books, bags, etc. United choice mover is a nightmare.

"Worse Movers - DO NOT USE"

I used this company to move from California to South Carolina. Originally was quoted $4,580.00 for the move complete with loading, transporting and unloading in new state. The quote was done over the phone...when they came to load, the lead stated that I was way over the amount of square footage quoted. This was absolutely incorrect. When they arrived in South Carolina with my items the crew they hired locally to unload were all stoned on pot and literally threw my items in storage, ruining my a considerable amount of my furnishings, boxes and bins.

"Worst experience of customer service…"

Worst experience of customer service and highly incompetent staff. I used this company for moving my furniture and goods from Louisiana to Maryland. They took the inventory on the phone call and gave me a quote which I thought to be reasonable. I paid some amount as advance and then 2 installment were to be paid on pick up and delivery to final destination. The date of pick was given and then a confirmation email came for pick up. Up to now everything went on but from here on it was a complete downhill disaster. On the day of pickup 2 guys came with a Penske truck. I inquired if they will deliver in that truck but they said it will be transferred to another and then shipped. This was the first red flag but since I had already scheduled my move and everything I went ahead. The next red flag was when one of them said that my motorcycle is a big item and I have to pay extra for that, however I argued that it was already listed in the inventory when I made the booking on the phone call. After much back and forth we agreed at an extra cost that I had to bear. After loading my motorcycle without any lift, using a narrow ramp I was already dreading that why had I hired them.

But so far so good. It gets worse from here onwards. My goods were shoved and taken I was promised a delivery week. I went to pick up everything to Maryland in the coming week but no communication at all. I called and emailed and there was no response. On the phone call when finally they answered, a lady spoke and said that they don’t know when my stuff will be arriving. I told her that I was committed a date by the person who picked up and on the call by the agent who booked my order but she said that our policy is delivery within 30 days and if late then some nominal amount per day is paid. No point in arguing as I had no written date of delivery. So I waited and emailed several times to the agent who took my order but no reply from him.

After I came back to pick up some stuff I was taking with me by road, I get a call from the driver of the delivery truck that they are delivering the next day. I said I cannot come on such a short notice and the their supervisor talks to me. He is the most rudest person, form Jay logistics, saying that he will suffer loss as I cannot pick up the next day. I told him that they have to wait a day since they never told me earlier and they were supposed to be delivering last week. Finally this guy asked me to pay extra again and I had to comply out of duress. On the day of delivery this guy again calls me and asks me to pay before they open the truck as I demanded that I need to see my stuff before I paid. He said no I cannot see my stuff until I pay the full and final and also pay the delivery people too as a tip. So I had to pay. The only good thing was that my stuff came out with very less damage on some items. The whole experience was terrible and stressful, several change of companies and no one willing to take responsibility. Most rude and unprofessional people to work with and in my opinion not with the headache and stress I had to go through and just in anticipation of saving a little bit of money which I already ended up paying eventually. Stay away from this company or jay logistics or in the moon services. Lessons learned: always hire a professional company that comes to take the inventory at your place, uses their own delivery network and not hire a 3rd party and commit on a fixed price and date in advance.

"They kept my $2500 deposit"

They told me that had the special equipment to move my large heavy furniture from the 4th floor of my townhouse. I emphasized what equipment was necessary to move it. They assured me that they could move those items. Sent them a deposit. When it can time to finalize the move, tried to confirm that they could move those pieces. They became very evasive. That's when I realized that they could not move those pieces. Tried to get a refund. They refused saying that there was nothing in the contract about that requirement and there was nothing in their notes. I'm hoping my states attorney general can help get my money back.

"They deceive you in writing and orally…"

They deceive you in writing and orally to believe they are a moving company when they are BROKERS.
Whenthe rag tag group of " movers" showed up they intimidated , browbeat, screamed at and falsified the inventory to be three times greater than it was bid on , even though I sent videos to Scarpa showing every item to be moved. The henchmen he sent out from miami Fl. didnt even have a truck but rented one filthy bug ridden one on the local market. They should be arrested.

"Scammer, Broker, Law-breaker"

This company is a broker, NOT a moving company. In fact, according to the DOT website, they do not have a single vehicle in their fleet. What they do have are dozens of complaints, which after my experience, seem well deserved.

They are scammers. Whatever you do, do not pay them. Pay for service with an actual moving company. There is no way to contact their billing department, their customer service employees are a joke. They will hold your items hostage for a much higher fee than agreed to. They fail to abide by contractual agreements, which is a crime. Do your research, but DO NOT use this company.

"Poor"

Poor, poor, poor service. Poor attention given to customers. Did not explain that the company was not moving furniture themselves until after contract had been signed. Refused to return phone calls. Spoke to at least ten different customer service people who all gave me different stories and no one would listen to my side. They just wanted more monies. Started at 5000 and ended close to 10000 with at least $6000 of my things being stolen

"DO NOT USE THIS BROKER!!"

DO NOT USE THIS BROKER!!! BROKER!! THEY sell your contract to a van line! Hire a van line outright! They are a middleman that barely operate within the law! Please do very careful research on who you hire. This will not be cheaper, it will cost way more than hiring outright. This is a barely legal scam. If you already have a contract and are stuck in the cycle with this company my advice would isndon’t even try to deal with them, deal directly with the van line. I built a relationship with a particular dispatcher at the van line and I was treated fairly from that point. I was pleasant and very direct and made it clear to him that at this point I knew what the game was and all I wanted was honesty. The problem is this broker company lies about everything. Flat out lie and deceive. The van line was pretty honest and my stuff arrived in about 2 weeks with nothing broken. DO NOT USE UNITED CHOICE MOVERS!!!

"Very upset customers!"

Very upset customers!
My husband and I recently used United Choice Movers to move our belongings from Colorado to Montana. Seemed ratings were good so we chose them. What a nightmare it has been! It started out with no problems. The actual movers, Top Moving USA, LLC that showed up at our house seemed to wrap our furniture well, and took care in moving our belongs to a van to be put in storage for a couple weeks so we could prepare for them at the destination location in Montana. When the movers showed up with our items in a semi truck they were in a huge hurry to get back on the road to deliver another load to Spokane, WA. There was no way we could confirm that we had all of our items on delivery. Very odd too, that we had to pay the driver in cash. Immediately the next day, we realized many of our belongings did not make it to us. Several valuable pieces of art, and antiques were nowhere to be found. Many items were discovered to be damaged as well that we discovered. We have been in contact with United Choice Movers as well as Top Moving USA and so far we’ve just been given the runaround and no one seems to care. Communication has not been good. We are very upset and have had many sleepless nights because of this. At this point we may have to get attorney’s involved if we receive no satisfaction. If they do manage to find these items, or somehow make this entire experience right, I’ll edit my feedback to indicate this. Until then, I would never ever recommend this company to anyone and will be contacting the BBB as well as filing a police report if required.
Update: Movers are not taking any responsibility for losing items. We were finally given a number to call to file a claim. Claim was submitted today (close to a month after move) so we’ll see how this will be handled. Somehow I’m not holding my breath but will let you know how this comes out.
Update: We sent in a claim for $7,430 and eventually we received a Release and Settlement of Claim form back saying they would reimburse us $81. What a slap in the face! Not even worth getting the document notarized and sent back to them.
Conclusion: Do a lot of research before selecting a moving company. And after you do, make sure you examine the inventory sheets that the movers fill out even if it slows them down. Don’t sign any forms saying you received everything unless you’ve verified it. Also, if possible, always transport anything that you value yourself. We definitely learned the hard way on this one. United Choice Movers and Top Moving USA get a big middle finger solute from us!!
