United Choice Movers

"The United Choice Movers are the MOST…"
The United Choice Movers are the MOST DISHONEST PEOPLE. They got $1,050.00 of my money and when I asked for a refund they came up with every reason in the book not to give it back to me. I did everything according to there contract but still won't refund me. I went to give a review and they kept me from doing that too. They are nothing but crooks in my eyes and once you give them a down payment and change your mind they won't give it back. Easy way to make money without doing a thing. I don't know how they sleep at night! That's ok God will take care of them when the time comes...

"These people STOLE $5,000 from us in…"
These people STOLE $5,000 from us in July of this year. Same issue as some of the other posts. The quoted us a price of $9,900, of which we paid $5,000 up front as a deposit. The morning of the move, the movers show up only to tell us that the truck they brought would not be large enough to handle the amount of furniture that we have and it would be an extra $8,000 to get the right size truck. On top of that they told us that they would have to wrap all of the large furniture at several hundred dollars a piece. I told them i didnt want them wrapped and to put all of the furniture in the original truck that would fit and i would sell whatever was left.. While i was talking to Brad at United Choice Movers about this, the moving guys got back in their truck and left and would not come back. I had to go rent a U-Haul, actually 2, and pay some different moving guys to help load them, and drive them to Florida from Virginia myself. We contacted the BBB about these people. Next step is an attorney. They will not respond to any of our phone calls about this. We all need to get together to with a class action law suit to hold them accountable. They are nothing but low life thieves.

"This broker, United Choice, is full of BS"
These brokers are full of BS! Do NOT trust them! They falsely advertised wrapping of my furniture and when the actual movers arrived, they attempted to charge me 1200 to wrap my furniture despite the contract indicating otherwise!
I know it’s all about the money, but damn; one would think they would have more sense than they demonstrated! Go directly to the actual moving company snd stay away from brokers especially THIS BROKER United Choice!

"Worst experience ever."
So when I originally contracted with this company, the rep was really nice. I went through my entire house on the phone with him, telling him every piece I needed moved. He read everything back to me. I told him when I needed the items picked up, and the day I needed them delivered. He quoted me $4K, and since that was in line with other companies, I foolishly signed the contract, and paid the deposit. Shame on me for thinking there are honest people in this world.
2 days before the truck arrived, a different rep called to verify what items I had. Imagine my surprise when the price now changed to $8k! Half of my items had somehow fallen off their list, strange things, too, like only 2 of my 4 chairs. I had verified that info! I was not willing to pay that amount, but I was over a barrel, with two days to go and having paid a deposit. So instead we scrambled, and rented a uhaul for $300 for the things they didn't list.
On the day of the move, the driver calls to verify my address. They were supposed to be there at noon, and due to traffic, they were going to be an hour late. No big deal, it happens! But they don't show up until 6PM! They then decided that several items on my list needed more wrapping, and charged me nearly $1K! They also put a huge chip in the stair in my 1850s home. That wood can't be replaced, and in order for the stairs to match, I'll have to replace the whole staircase.
So now we're in our new state, and the day before I had contracted delivery, I call to find out when they'll be there. The lady on the phone yells me they have 21 days to deliver from the date I contracted them to be delivered!!! The original salesman had guaranteed delivery on the day I wanted. So now, I'm in an empty house with 2 small children and no furniture. We ended up having to drive six hours to my sister's house so we could have a place to sleep. When they finally showed up with my furniture, my dressers were chipped, my daughter's kitchen playset was completely smashed, and my great, great grandmother's sewing table had a leg snapped off. I get things happen on a move, but the amount of things damaged was completely ridiculous. Never again. I'd call them complete scam artists, but my things did eventually arrive, so I'll instead say they pull complete bait and switches.

"Run away!!"
Run, don't walk from this company!! If I could give these guys something lower than a 1, I would. The initial estimate given by Buddy (who is not at all honest) was competitive. We were left with the impression that our furniture would be picked up on the day of the move and taken to our new home (in a neighboring state). When the movers showed up (Giovanni Van Lines), the crew chief raised the estimate given by Buddy about 2 and 1/2 times for a "final cost". We were also informed that they couldn't give us a date of when we'd get our furniture. Since we had to be out of our home, we had no choice but to allow them to pack our home goods. Giovanni Van Lines had no idea of when our furniture would be delivered. How you can pick up furniture and have no plan on when it would be delivered is beyond me. We finally got our things 5 days after pickup, and only avoided paying a hotel fee because of friends who allowed us to stay with them when we got to our new city. Before the delivery, the manager of Giovanni told us that there would be an additional $300 fee to deliver the furniture and that the final payment would have to be in cash. Sounds like someone was wanting to earn money and not having to report income to the IRS. Our things were finally delivered, but not without two items damaged. We were told to file a claim (which we doubt will ever be decided for us). So, not only are we held hostage for 5 days not having our furniture, but the final cost about 65 percent higher than Buddy's estimate. This company has no integrity or honesty. Run away from them!!!

"On 8/14/23 I hired United Choice Movers…"
On 8/14/23 I hired United Choice Movers DOT# 3941385, MC# 1463882, after speaking with Robert Thomas, Bruce King (Manager), and Danny Twigg to make sure that the estimate they were giving me was not a fraud. I asked for reviews and references. I asked them if they were the actual movers and they responded that they were the actual movers and that they had 17 locations across the US. I have all the notes I took in my notebook from our conversations and various emails with all three of them.
I gave them a detailed list of the items that were moving, including measurement of items, to arrive at the cubic feet estimate. They offered me a 15% discount and offered me a quote for a final cost to me of $4,264. They requested a $1,432 deposit by check on the same day. I would pay the remainder 50% at pick-up and 50% at drop-off.
On 8/30 I spoke by phone and emailed with Joe Ellis, their QA person to confirm the final estimate. There were additions and subtractions of items, but the final amount and the cubic feet estimate were confirmed. On 8/31 I called United Choice Movers to ask why I had not received a call to schedule to pick up and they said that “the moving company” would call me directly later that day. Clearly, United Choice Movers just brokered the move – lie #1.
On 9/1/2023, the moving company arrived on time. They were very professional, and I have no problems with them. However, the actual cubic feet of the load included on the final list confirmed via phone and email from QA was significantly more than the bogus estimate United Choice gave me. We actually removed items from the final list: removed 20 boxes (18x18x18) from the 50 boxes on the list, removed a box that was double counted at 80x24x10, removed a wardrobe box, and removed a table 30x20x20. We added a king mattress and box spring.
The final amount of the move was $8,565.70, an extra $4,301. Basically, more than 100% of the amount and cubic feet that United Choice quoted. As the movers were packing the truck, they alerted me to the fact that the space estimate was completely off. As the movers were still here, I called United Choice. I spoke with Gabby in customer service. She told me that there was nothing they could do, their job was done. She refused to connect me to a manager. She said nobody was available. She refused to put me through to voicemail and said that a manager would not say anything different, therefore, she would not connect me. I requested a copy of the transcripts of the recorded conversations and informed her that I would be seeking reparation for the bait and switch. She disconnected the phone call! I left messages with Danny, Robert, and Joe and nobody called me back. I am copying them on this email to give them a chance to respond. The movers told me that United Choice is now out of the picture. They collected their $1,432 check and washed their hands of this job. I am now dealing with the moving company, and still owe them 40% of the remainder.
Update: Today is 9/11/23. I still don't have my stuff. the 2nd "movers" took a check from me for $4,300. They are hiring another mover to deliver my things. They are now telling me there is an additional surcharge of $700. this nightmare will haunt you if you hire United Choice Movers.

"This company is a huge scam!"
This company is a huge scam!! I was never once told they were a Broker company. They assured me it was United Choice Movers that would be moving me. Come to find out, so company they hired, USA Logisitics is the moving company I was assigned. Regardless having canceled the Move Appt I made with them within 3 hours of actually making it and putting down $1000 deposit, they refuse to give mea refund at all. The paperwork says that I had 48hrs to cancel. They added their own agenda to the cancellation policy and stated that I was too close within my move date to get a refund. That was never relayed to me upon booking at all. As well as making my move date within their 7day policy, when I specifically asked for a date that was actually 4 days later than they assigned me.. Obviously they have done this before.. When trying to call them back, I was given the run around and passed over to several people that eventually told me NO I couldn't cancel. When calling my dude I was originally speaking to to book, but now to cancel, he suddenly went MIA and couldnt get a hold of him for, wouldnt you know it, 48hrs later!! Sus for sure!
AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!!!

"I was quoted $6k initially"
I was quoted $6k initially, and the move cost me $16k. No one would answer my phone calls or texts and never called me back. The movers contracted out showed up with a truck too small for my stuff. I had to wire the moving company extra money or they would not deliver my stuff. This is the worse customer service I ever endured!! Once these brokers get their cut, they don’t communicate. Stay away from this company!!
