"Painful and upsetting "

Delivery man called me when he was hour and a half away - I confirmed that the last letter of our postcode - the bit which is the door number not street or area - was a B, not a D. Everything else correct. He told me not to worry he's got our door number see you soon. Their office rang me 10 minutes later and cancelled the entire delivery because of a 'request to change the delivery address'. We arranged palliative care nurses for my partners mum to look after her this morning so my partner could take the delivery and we spent two hours the night before clearing the garage to give them an easier path to the back door whilst balancing a seven year old and a mother in hospice at home. I asked for some humanness to the situation - its a B instead of a D, he's said its fine, they're already on their way up to Scotland, and was met with none. This morning took a huge amount of reshuffling of nurses, palliative teams and childcare so that one of us could be in, and they just cancelled the whole delivery because a D was a B. I hoped after the 14 days we've just had as a family, someone somewhere will just help us get a washing machine fitted. Not Appliance World. I hope whoever runs the company sees we're all human, not just machines and company policies.
