"Most terrible customer service EVER!"

I ordered some spare parts for my Jaguar from the NL phone number of SNG Barratt and it was a total desaster.

I called the german speaking guy in the Netherlands branch of SNG to order from Netherlands to Germany.

I wanted to make sure to get the right spare parts and so I had the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) of my not so old Jaguar car model ready, also the original parts including the part numbers and even batch numbers of the parts (!) and also told him which Model Year (MY) my car was exactly and I even offered to deliver photos, if the operator was not sure about the right parts (it were only 2 parts to order!).

He said he was sure after checking my VIN and so the parts were sent to me.

One part was correct - but the other was definetely from the next Model Year and up - so they sent the wrong part, though all the information that was provided.

No big thing here - I stayed calm and friendly and did not even had time pressure or demanded something. I just told them what happened (mistakes do happen, no problem!) and in a complete friendly email asked how we could solve this.

In the email reply from them I got suddenly lied on, blamed and harshly attacked from the operator I had talked to the phone before when ordering the spare parts.

Remember: I demanded and asked for nothing until then, only friendly mail how and if we can solve this anyhow.

I got a rant from the service operator, telling me that my standard Jaguar spare part that was not fitting was actually fitting into my car model and model year - which is simply so so so not true, as I checked the part and batch number and even could simply see it, being a Jaguar enthusiastic. And so I knew it was the part fitting for the Model Year AFTER my Jaguar car Model Years (which is even simply visible - it is the air duct from the front bumper, which changed in shape together with the whole front bumper, on this newer Model Year).

Checked back with my local Jaguar car garage, that 100% told me I am correct and this would not be fitting to my Model Year but for some of the Model Years after mine.

The SNG operator I also phoned with, wrote me it would be impossible to change the part (which was still new and in original packaging); he told me it would be a "specially ordered part from Jaguar for me" (as it would have been produced and fitted for my personal car and as it would not be a standard spare part, that was delivered from the storage of Jaguar) and said it was my fault.

Also costs of 40 Euro and more if I would return the part (part cost: around 100 Euro, which is btw. more than my expensive local dealer took for the correct fitting part).

A whole email with lies and trying to make a fool of me: the part was actually fitting to my Model Year, but at another place - which is a LIE!
(ask my garage!).

Beside that a lot of aggressive flaming at me, without a reason.

You made a mistake, okay. You can show a good service and correct YOUR mistake then.

If not, you can simply ignore me or write a one sentence friendly saying "Sorry, but we can not do anything about it". Yes, that would have been bad service, when your side made the mistake.

But trying to fool me, lie to me, call me a liar and writing harsh emails to me, WHEN I DID NOT EVEN DEMAND ANYTHING BEFORE, is simply crazy and stupid in my opinion.

You can friendly tell me you would not fix this - okay. You can in neutral words tell me you would not fix this - okay.

But out of nothing and without a reason attacking a customer who was friendly, did not demand anything and just asked for help with this after you made a mistake and sent the wrong part is a new quality of terribly bad customer service.

Please send dutch Peter to doctor as soon as possible! Or at least offer him a "customer service behaviour training". Or just don't let him "work" his personal aggressions out on his customers...! (After HE made a mistake).

I can not imagine what would happen, if a customer would actually be rude or actually demand his rights. I was close to report him to the "Politie" for his email.

"good customer service"

Have used this company before and will do so again as the service I have recieved has been second to none, and have suffered none of the issues some are complaining of and have found the staff to be helpfull. Ordered 2pm and arrived first class the next day for a few pence extra to send first not second class post.

"Assolutamente da evitare"

Assolutamente da evitare, il 17 maggio ho ordinato e pagato dei ricambi che venivano descritti pronti a magazzino, oggi, 11 settembre, ancora non se ne sa nulla. Se scrivo per sollecitare a volte rispondono laconicamente che l'ordine è "in progress" , altre volte non rispondono affatto. Qualcosa deve essere cambiato , negli anni passati mi ero servito da loro senza problemi, ma adesso pare che la serietà non sia più di casa.

"Low quality parts, shameful aftersales behaviour"

Large amount of parts available, fair prices but most dont last split second. Some dont even allow you to take the car out of the workshop. To make matters worst the aftersales/warranty is a complete nonsense as they will charge you for the replacement, and then after you send back the faulty part you need to claim the refund for months, sometimes years.
