"50kg mastiff doesn’t even touch it! Good quality and great service"
Great quality, we got ours in black and matched the carpet colour enough that it’s not intrusive. I’d say imagine a bouncy castle fabric and your close to the shine/texture. We have a 55kg mastiff cross and he doesn’t mark it up so we are happy! It fits perfectly and in the 2 series we only lost the use of 2 elastic hold down straps on the side of the boot, but I would rather loose them then my dog eat my boot!! A nice thought that it’s all designed and made in Britain.
My suggestion to people with the same car is get the non reclined version and it means you can still recline the rear seats without the liner pulling on the Velcro. Just folds the liner slightly is all.
We just got one for our 2 series Gran Tourer. Fits perfectly and was easy to fit. Velcro tabs are great and easy to fit if you follow the instructions. I would suggest using any degreaser on the plastic area where the tabs need sticking. I used lotoxane as I didn’t have any bug and tar remover.
Suggestions for the company, at the price point you sell your products it wouldn’t eat into profits too much to put a small 50ml bottle of degreasing spray in with the kit?
But great customer service and delivered within the 10 working days. We will be purchasing another when we replace the second car and a couple of friends have already placed orders

"I would avoid..."
I feel compelled to write this review and warn people not to buy the tailgate cover for their cars. I purchased a tailgate cover for my brand new Insignia Tourer and despite following all the fitting instructions I have had to buy at least 2 more velcro packs as it just will not hold. When I open the tailgate it just falls off.
Be careful with this company too as they make you pay for replacement velcro even though it is clearly a design fault.
Thanks

"Expensive, but worth it"
I just received a Hatchbag bootliner for my Mini. Fitting was very quick and easy.
I went with Hatchbag because the fit is superb and the material is high quality and more rigid than cheaper bootliners. The boot in my car is small, so fit is very important, a slack and floppy liner will rob precious millimetres of space.
Folding the back seats down is easy, the small part of the seats not covered when folded flat is not a big issue in my car, it's only a couple of inches, so I didn't bother ordering the extension.
The price is obviously an issue, but I can see this thing lasting for years. I will sell it if I change cars and put the money towards another Hatchbag.
Buy cheap - buy twice.

"A well made product but falls short on expectations and function"
Why in a sea of 5* reviews am I giving only 2*? I purchased this for my F31 BMW estate which has a white leather interior (not my choice I hasten to add). I throw skis, climbing kit, kayaking gear and dirty MTB’s in the back which meant I needed something to protect said white leather which would of course be expensive to repair should it get damaged. On this basis I ordered a hatchbag with the front extension piece, split fold and tailgate pad which came to £230, a not insubstantial amount for a boot liner given you can pick up (albeit thinner) examples on ebay for 1/10th of this.
Now there’s no doubting that Hatchbags are tougher and better made, but the actual material cost isn’t that much more than the cheaper products. So where does this extra money go? If you buy a standard boot liner for your dog and don’t fold your seats down then they’re actually not too bad, albeit its installation prevents you accessing either load tie down points or 12V outlets for powering accessories like bike/dog washers. None of the other liners offer this either, but for the extra money it would be nice to see some innovation to provide these extra features.
The bigger issue arises when you come to fold the seats down. In standard form the cover still doesn’t protect the seat top, unless you spec the seat top cover but that means removing the headrests – not ideal if you want to carry rear seat passengers! So instead I ordered it with the extension piece that stretches out to Velcro onto the front headrests. This thing is huge, basically 1500x2000mm, but while huge it actually leaves a lot of the interior unprotected, in particular the leather side bolsters on the rear bench (see pics below). I raised this with Hatchbag and was basically told that they provide clear photos of what’s covered (I’d dispute it shows anything as clear as my photos), and anyway, nobody else has said it isn’t suitable. Now when putting bikes into the back of the car the most likely part to get damaged is the leather on either side of the aperture through into the main cabin, but this remains totally unprotected in the Hatchbag design. I have suggested making a slightly different design to protect this but their ‘senior’ designer responded that it was too expensive, too complicated and nobody would want it. Given you’re spending north of £200 on protecting your car’s interior I would say that many people probably would want this! It would be nice to see some innovation for the extra money over and above the ebay specials. The huge extension piece also takes up a fair amount of space when you fold it up to store in the boot.
Unfortunately I’d used it (and still damaged my interior) before realising how many niggles and failures there are in the design and thus returning it wasn’t an option. I did however get additional material from Hatchbag to make the necessary adjustments (credit to them for sending it FOC). As such I now have Velcro flaps to gain access to the tie downs, sockets and bag hooks, as well as additional coverage to protect the seats more fully. I’ve also made a new flap to cover the top of the seats better (The full size extension while not adequately covering the interior also manages to flick mud everywhere because of its size), and cut off the hooks which loop over the rear headrests in favour of a heavy duty Velcro strip stuck to the rear of the load guard. This makes dropping the rear seats almost every other time I use the car a much less fiddly process.
Ultimately the product is well made but lacks the innovation and features you’d expect for a premium product. If you just want a boot liner then it’s absolutely fine, although still rather expensive, but if you choose one of the more complex options they display even less value if you’re folding the seats down and regularly stuffing large and dirty items into the boot.
Pros:
- Well made, and manufactured in the UK
- Tougher than ebay options
Cons:
- Very expensive if you want to fold the seats down
- Doesn’t fully protect forward of the boot line and leaves a lot of interior fabric/leather exposed to damage
- Prevents access to load tie downs
- Prevents access to 12V accessory outlets

"Another fantastic Hatchbag!"
This is my third Hatchbag - two times a Focus and a Fiesta. As ever the service was fantastic ...even under the current situation. Fits like an absolute glove and red looks great in black ST line. Fred the Schauzer is very happy as am I. This is a fantastic company which has never failed to impress.
PS...Really important to follow their advice re silicon removal.

"Excellent Product"
Previously used hatchbag boot liners in Toyota Avensis estates protecting the boot from fishing equipment. Have now fitted one to a Skoda superb estate. The material is top quality and the fit is perfect. Simple to fit with easy to follow instructions. This is an excellent product which cleans easily and copes with heavy use over long periods of time. Many thanks

"Disappointing"
Bought two years ago & very pleased until I came to change my car two months ago> I took the liner out & the seams were no longer held together. The stitching/glue had given up. It literally fell apart.
I got in touch & this is what they replied 'I have discussed this with our designer and she assured me this is not the result of a design flaw on our part, but the liner may have been damp for an extended period or exposed to sea water and not cleaned afterwards.' It has not been either of those two things as I have dog beds on top of the liner which are regularly cleaned. They have not offered me anything.
Yes, it is out of warranty but do we expect goods to only last for the term of the warranty? Very disappointed.

"Installed my Toyota Rav Hybrid Hatchbag…"
Installed my Toyota Rav Hybrid Hatchbag boot liner, had great advice from Hatchbag via emails, they helped me make a small adjustment for the dog guard, No more dirty boot due to my mud loving spaniels. Well worth the cost.. will last me years,

"Ordered the boot liner"
Ordered the boot liner, bumper flap and hatchback door liner for my new Kodiaq vrs. When you spend that sort of money on a car, you want the best protection money can buy, especially with my old boy who is a 9 year old GSD.
The liner arrived this morning and the part that took the longest time was going to Halfords for the tar remover. Once the silicon was cleaned off it was so easy to attach the velcro strips.
The panels/shapes of the liner are perfect copies of the interior shapes of the boot carpets, and fit really well.
The door cover was also a perfect fit.
I ordered the blue liner and it's not out of place with the race blue colour of the car.
I have the original Skoda rubber boot floor liner on top so I can see the quality Hatchbag liner should last a long long time. I am so glad I chose this liner over cheaper low quality ones, and I shall recommend this to anyone who is thinking of getting a liner.
