"We were successful bidders on three…"
We were successful bidders on three lots, two of the lots were correct but there was items missing from the third lot. Normally when we contact customer services they either sent the missing goods or give a partial refund, this time they did neither. The customer service also did not reply to my last communication.

"Pye In The Sky. Something unlikely to happen. "
I have never purchased from John Pye before and will not be doing so again. They appear to be the most inflexible company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Read this… you have been warned.
I bid on a small, inexpensive TV and won; I was delighted with the price however then things started to go wrong.
I paid and was then directed to a page that allowed me to pick a collection time. My son agreed to collect for me and so I selected a time that was convenient and fitted in with his working hours (as a family we all go to work full time) – I have a screen shot of this as I sent it to him! The collection time was the next day, my son was unable to collect the day after that due to work commitments as were the rest of us in the household.
You can imagine my shock when I noticed, later the same day but after John Pye had closed, that the collection time was not the time I had selected but for an hour later. Unable to telephone them I completed the online “contact us” form.
I received a response at 09:26 the next day which advised me that they had moved my collection time to the time slot originally selected (which was 10am – 11am), I received the response 34 minutes before the start of that time slot, I don’t think anyone could have got there, even in a helicopter!
I replied to the message and told them that the notice was too short and that I would call them later in the day to discuss; they called me within half an hour of me sending that message.
I spoke to a young lady and asked what my options were – in short there aren’t any. One must collect on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday – no other day possible.
If you are unable to collect, because you need to perhaps need to arrange time off work to make the collection, they will charge you £6 per day that they “store” your cheap TV, or whatever you have purchased PLUS a £60 administration charge, for me this would be more than the TV cost!
There is no flexibility, other than delivery and I simply cannot see how they are charging £60 for a delivery – as someone that has had a small business in the past, and used carriers and couriers daily I can only make the assumption that John Pye are being ripped off by their carriers – maybe their extortionate fees for storage of purchased items are used to fund their carriers? Who knows!
I soon realised that there was no hope. They were totally and utterly inflexible and so I told them to donate the TV to charity, I was not paying upwards of £60 in admin fees and storage for a TV that I bid on and purchased for less than £50, plus fees.
I have no TV and I’m a little over £50 out of pocket.
An absolute rip off.
Remember, if you buy from John Pye and you happen to go to work you will need to take a leave in order to collect your purchases.

"Poor service"
Poor service, called in to get an invoice delivery address changed before the parcel was prepped. They assured me they did so. I just received a notification telling me that the parcel was sent to my previous address after multiple calls in assuring me the address was fixed

"Don't waste your time or money! "
I received a PERSONAL HYGIENE electrical item, that was missing vital elements and heavily used; covered in product and thick with coarse hair! These IMPORTANT details were not featured in the product description and not visible in the photos provided. When I contacted John Pye about this, the response given was a kick in the teeth really. The item should have been viewed, and it does state in their contract all items are sold as seen.
Needless to say I won't be using anytime soon, and my account is now deleted!
Please be sure to read the small print when bidding for anything on this site!

"Don't buy anything from this company"
Don't buy anything from this company.
They knowingly sell faulty untested goods that also have missing parts which render the item useless.
Then when you complain they refuse to do anything about it...
They list a RRP which is actually irrelevant and is misrepresentation as the item is really worthless.
AVOID DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Usual standard reply from John Pye so please check the Facebook John Pye auctions complaints group before entertaining this company...
Also the sale of goods act states goods should be of satisfactory quality and fit for intended purpose even if buying from an auction site so they are clearly in breach of this ..

"Expensive charges for a very poor service "
After receiving the 2nd footstool of 2 items of the same lot weeks apart and more infuriating being charged £75 delivery for the small items. I was bemused at the care of the packages the first one arrived OK not damaged even though it was wrapped in thin bubble wrap and black plastic. The second item arrived same packaging as the first with loose legs and part of the packaging open on seeing me inspect this the delivery driver said "I think you have to put it together?" I said really given one of the legs was attached to the stool! He then quickly took a picture and left. I have complained to the delivery company as of yet no reply? I have a picture of both footstools I won at auction in perfect condition my main question is why were they split?????? And why wasn't there more care on packing them as demonstrated one was broken with force. P. S. The delivery company was Furdeco?.

"bought a pair of boots 🥾 > 🚮 ⛔️⛔️⛔️"
Haha bought a pair of boots 🥾 all broken apart pictures where taken from distance to not see the button was split everywhere. I understand if you sell a bunch of items and one is defect but if you put only one item at least advise his state

"Items always arrive smashed and broken"
I have been buying quite a lot of items from John Pye over the last year without any problems but I've got to say it's getting worse. The past two weeks I have had 5 boxes delivered and there is always something broken inside, when I sent an enquiry form to them I never got a reply.
I phoned again today to tell them I have just had a delivery and more items were broken. They told me to fill in a form again, which I have done and while I was on the phone I got them to check what happened to my message from the previous week.
They told me they sent an email asking for pictures and because I didn't reply wouldn't take it further, which was a lie because I didn't receive an email, so I told her to resend it and she said she has, another lie, no email. So now I am stuck with broken items and out of pocket because they won't reply.
John Pye really need to tell their packers not to put heavy metal objects on top of glass and expect them to be delivered intact with a sliver of bubble wrap for protection, just rattling around in the box.
Just had a reply below, asking me to contact customer services, if they read the message I have posted they would know I have already contacted customer services instead of sending out a scripted reply or getting an office junior to do it.
Just proves my point once again the customer service in John Pye is lousy along with certain packers.

"Obscene storage and admin charges"
So, I have used John Pye a bit in the last few months with varying degrees of success. On my first attempt I ordered lots of small eletricall items, I would say that 90% were not fit for purpose and had to go straight to the tip. I then read other reviews and thought ok, I should really have done more research, but hadn't realised you were able to sell faulty and potentially dangerous items. I decided to stay away from all electrical items, in a recent auction I bid on multiple lots, all of which were available for delivery (as I am unable to drive at the moment) unfortunately one item turned out to be collection only, my fault as I had missed this but all the lots were bottles of wine so hadn't thought this one would be different. I contacted them immediately to let them know and to find out how they were packaged so I could attempt to arrange collection. The answer I received a few days later was that they weren't packaged and that I would need to get a man and van to collect, they even provided a recommendation. The quote I received from them was twice what I paid for the items and I was going to do but then a friend offered to collect for me but they could only go on Saturday. I was very grateful and emailed John Pye to let them know, happy that it was resolved. Two days later I receive an email to say I can not collect on a Saturday as they don't deal with late collections on Saturday and that also there was now a £30 storage fee and a £60 admin fee added to my account which had to be paid before collection, £90 of charges to store 12 bottles of wine for a week when I had continuously been in contact with them. When I called them they said that I hadn't collected before the deadline that was on my invoice, I pointed out there was no collection deadline on my invoice, only available collection days. When they checked they agreed that this was true but said I should have been aware and there was nothing they could do as it was Terms and Conditions, I would point out that in the Terms and Conditions it says may add charges which would imply it is a choice. Very disappointed, had given them the benefit of the doubt thinking you just need to know how they work. Sadly it seems they are purely interested in extracting money from you even when you make an honest error. Have probably spent somewhere over £1000 in the last few months but will not be spending anymore
