"There may be trouble ahead!!!"

The problem is that it will, ultimately, always end in tears. They don't, in my opinion, remind your constantly that, 'The items we sell may have some flaws, defects, or imperfections that could be there at the time of sale' but they are quick to remind you of this when an item you receive doesn't work.
You then say to yourself, 'I must have been mad to have trusted this!'
It was always going to end with you being out of pocket and there's nothing you can do...other than warn others not to use them.
Don't automatically believe in the product you are buying.
Do believe that it is too good to be true.
Like so many others who have purchased from them you are left with that feeling that you've been let down...until they remind you that it's all your own fault and that makes you feel even worse.
Addition
And then they post that it is all your own fault!!! It must be wonderful to cut and paste and add Anthony to a reply you must send to many hundreds of us.
Leaves a nasty taste.

"Dreadful company"

Dreadful company. Got a George Foreman grill from them.
Connected it to the mains and instantly got an electric shock.
It went straight to recycling!
A friend bought loads from them and half of it was broken or had essential parts either missing or incorrect.
I'd say steer clear and buy elsewhere.
Time John Pye were forced to close for good!

"Sale of extremely dangerous goods"

I bid on goods which were not as described and although I can't attend any auctions their online description needs to improve.
Secondly, I bid for two items and received one (which is now in the skip as it was a serious fire hazard), so I contacted them and have had a response to say someone would deal with this. That was a week ago and I have heard nothing since.
The auctioneers could in part be responsible for selling goods which once placed in a domestic property could cause a fire and kill people. Yet their response is simply you had the opportunity to view the item had you came to the auction.
Items should be checked for safety, tested and if faulty labelled for spares or repairs as eBay does.

"Don't trust sealed items"

I bought a lot containing multiple items. I bought the lot because it contained an image of a sealed box of collectible cards. Upon receiving the items delivered, I opened the sealed box of cards to find that it has clearly been resealed as all of the packs had been opened and shoddily put back in as some packs contained more cards than they are supposed to have. Also in the entire box where each pack is supposed to have guaranteed rare cards only 3 were present in 24 packs. I raised this with John Pye Auctions and they said that all items are sold as seen... which I saw it was sealed in images... they didn't seem to care about that. The most notable thing I took away from that exchange was that if you go to view the items before auction, if they are sealed you are welcome to unseal them and have a look through. My takeaways from this is that either they were 1. given an unsealed box of cards which John Pye resealed, 2. a viewer unsealed the box, opened all the packs, replaced cards shoddily and then resealed, or 3. staff unsealed the box, took items out and resealed.

"Buyer beware"

The moto of this company should be Buyer be Aware, they are no better than scammers, i bided and won 2 air fryers, when they arrived they were broken, after sending photos they agreed on a refund, but only if i sent my bank details, the same as scammers ask for, they would not refund to my visa, the card i paid with. I’m still wondering if i should take legal action.

Purchase of a hoover - added extra of someone else's dirt and gravel. Presumably a driveway was hoovered up judging by the sound to which I need ear defenders ... do not buy from pye .. Thanks so much for the automated reply again ... on my first email..no refund ... so no need to send reply again

"John Pye exceed expectations"

So the best thing about John Pye, is the customer service. So I got 2 heated De Walt heated jackets, and both were missing the battery and charger, as per their photos. Rachelle in customer service resolved the problem, gave me a 50% refund, can't complain with that, and its enough to buy the battery and charger, excellent!

"Awful experience"

I sincerely hope you have checked in here before using John Pye.
We discovered JPA recently and bid on and won two items, however, we were shocked to find that extra charges added 50% to our bid price, meaning you are now back into standard sales price territory but without any of the retail safeguards.
We received an email saying our items were ready to collect and we collected our items and the refrigerator had a large dent in the front, this was acceptable I guess as it was sold without packaging.
We then bid on a matching appliance 'with packaging' and won that. We waited for the email containing our collection window but it never arrived. We put this down to it being over the Christmas period.
We contacted JPA who said we should have checked on their website and that we had missed the collection window.
Okay can we have a refund of £130?
Their reply was an automated simple email "Unfortunately we cannot provide you with a refund for the invoice. If goods remain uncollected, they are disposed off by way of public auction, and no refund can be provided."
So they re-sold the goods that we had paid for including the 50% charges and kept all of the money from both of those sales including vat on items we didn't receive. Is this even legal??
Therefore our experience with JPA was a massive financial net loss with the added insult of brush-off customer service!
If JPA are shamed into replying because of this review, then I will update it but based on the amount of negative reviews I won't be holding my breath.
My advice is to simply steer well clear.

JP did respond to this and as I expected it was just another standard email telling us to read the small print

"I ordered an item from John Pye that…"

I ordered an item from John Pye that appeared to be stuck in their depot. I also mis-ordered something, winning the wrong item. However, I spoke to Frankie on their customer service line and she did a great job sorting it all out.

We all make mistakes and the test for retail suppliers is how they go about addressing it is the important bit!

Thanks, Frankie
