"A great for value provider"

I’ve switched my tv service to Netgem TV and couldn’t be happier! I also love that it has a variety of channels and apps plus I can switch to my phone/ iPad and watch from anywhere, for the money, it’s great value and fantastic. Would definitely recommend!

"TalkTalk 4K box poor replacement for existing box."

Felt forced into paying extra for this as TalkTalk removed the ITVX app from my existing YouView box. Basically, I thought it was a totally retrograde step. You have to install a USB memory stick to save a program or to pause TV, and you can only record something while you are actually watching it - which seems pointless. I cannot watch a program while another one is been recorded, or record when away from the TV. In my case, it took me several attempts with various USB/HDD and I still couldn’t get it to record. It says USB connected, then when I try to record, it says you need to install a USB. Personally, I found the graphic user interface awful, others may not, more like watching children’s TV, full of flashing colours and too much unwanted information and the controller not as user friendly as my existing one with soft touch buttons. I do not have a connection problem for my picture quality, it's the graphics layout that I find so clumsy compared to the simple, easy to read and navigate layout on my old box and TV.
I have now returned it to Talktalk and gone back to existing system.
The Netgem box in my experience is a very competent at what it does, but does not seem to add much if you already have a good quality smart TV.
My main criticism is that TalkTalk have chosen to replace a user friendly, full function set top box with one that is useless in practice for recording programmes and requires another major purchase even to be able to pause TV, or just to record be able to record only while you watch. So it is not possible to FF>> through the ads on recorded programs! That's down to TalkTalk obviously going for a hugely downgraded specification. I did talk to TalkTalk, who were actually very responsive, but the facts are I still have no usable updated set top box, or any other TT option available.

Requested a Netgem Box from TalkTalk as not able to view ITVx on the Youview Box I had. Set it up reasonable easily and like its size and look.
Found the sound to be harsh and volume control on remote very inflexible. Difficult to get the right volume level as the sound variation had little flexibility -- it was either too loud or too quiet. The quality of the 'guide' picture was poor and difficult to read, its used to be easy to read the present time but now it is too small to see.
Also miss being able to pause live tv and go back to view something that I had missed or wanted to see again -- ie 'credits to programmes'

So ?
My only issue before recent issues ?
Was, that my Netgem Box was unable to disable the Sleep Function ? So watching Sports Events for example ? That went on all day ?
Would shut down (Sleep) after 8 hours, with no way to extend, or disable :-(

But now !
I have intermittent 'Bad Signal' Flag on various Channels ? And Pixelated Picture !
When I check Signal Quality and Strength ?
I tend to get 100% Quality, but Strength, as low as 50%, and a high of 90% :-(
Still ? After 5 days ?
No reply from Netgem Customer Service !!!!

Switched from virgin. Great little box. For what I need it for. Love the games. Happy with all the channels & apps. Recently lost my remote control. They sent one out straight away. Super customer service.

"Backwards step from you view box"

Step backwards from the you view box. The only benefit is that I can now access itvx on my non-smart TV. I wanted to watch a program that had just ended on channel 4 but it wasn't available on catch up straight away, so not convenient at all. I've had to pay for a usb stick which will only record 1 program when it arrives. This surely isn't moving forward. Not happy at all
