That British Tweed Company

"Untrustworthy and Unscrupulous Company. Avoid."
Ordered a suit last year. Was told there would be a delay. Accepted the delay. No contact after a month, another email. No response, another email, no response. I pretended to be a new customer asking for advice on where their suits were made and then they replied...lied to me about when our suit would be ready. It's now June and still no suit, no response, and no refund. Completely unacceptable. We will have to take matters further. Also, I'm not a 'Karen', we have been so patient during these unprecedented times, but this is now a joke.

"Terrible company"
Terrible company - waited for 2 and 1/2 months, reaching out now to enquiries and no response. This website is a scam unfortunately as I was looking forward to the item.

"DON'T RISK IT"
DON'T RISK IT - I took a calculated risk on buying from "That British Tweed Company" despite some very bad reviews I thought some of the good ones must have been genuine, it was a bad calculation. I ordered a priority made to measure suit & it was acknowledged within 48 hrs, after that the communication was very poor. The average delivery time had passed, I waited another few days and requested an order update, this was the start of slow and unhelpful responses. At one point I was told they could not give any certainty at all about the delivery so I requested a cancellation as the order was not in production & I needed it before a date they clearly could not meet. They didn't cancel it and then stopped replying to requests for updates. Then 6 weeks after the order was placed they said it was ready to be shipped. Then the reality of this company became clear...the suit was far from the quality or images of what I ordered. The stitching runs horizontal instead of vertical, there is a pink thread woven into the suit that should not be there, the buttons are the wrong colour and the overall quality is very poor and in no way reflects what they have on their website. ***DO NOT ORDER*** from this company. As of today I am waiting for a refund that I doubt I will ever see as they have not responded for 3 weeks now despite me offering to return the suit at my own cost.
The positive reviews on here are outright fake or have been posted at the request of the owners but most certainly are not genuine. Believe all the bad reviews including mine....DONT LOSE YOUR MONEY !!!!

"If I could give zero stars I would"
If I could give zero stars I would. Ordered a waist coat on the 15th January. Chased numerous times. Orders are sent to China to be fulfilled and then sent back. No mention of this on website or I wouldn't have ordered. Absolutely nothing British about this company. Finally received my order on the 1st April.

"Absolutely Superb"
Directions for self-measurement? Very clear (my first time measuring and it came out beautiful)
Quality of material? Surprisingly top-tier given the pricing. I was astonished
Condition it was in when shipped? This might be a small detail, but I was STUNNED at how it came ready-to-wear despite being shipped across the world. Didn't even need to steam or iron it
Care and customer service? Again, I was just surprised: I'm in a completely different time zone and yet the response times were fantastic and it felt like real human care was put behind every interaction.

"Women’s made to order 3 piece suit.."
I bought a women’s made to order suit, due to a mix up on the sizing it was too small when it arrived, I contacted Rich and he sorted it out straight away, now I have a gorgeous grey tweed suit that looks amazing! The only thing I would say is that if you’re ordering a women’s 3 piece suit go for made to measure instead. It’s what I will be doing when I order my next one.
The suit is amazing quality, lovely lining and the tweed gorgeous, I’ve had a lot of compliments on mine :)

"Con of a company"
Con of a company. Ordered a pair of trousers for my husband for Christmas, took almost 2 months to arrive. Quality was appalling. Husband described it feels like wearing cardboard when he tried it on, with poor workmanship.
Emailed to ask how I can return it and told it’s a ‘made to order’ item and thus they would not accept return, even within 14 days. How was a pair of standard waist 34 men’s trousers with regular leg length ‘made to order’?! It’s their standard size!
Would not recommend this to my enemy. It’s a £70 lesson. Awful company with rude and arrogant responses

"Now been three weeks and except for the…"
Now been three weeks and except for the automated confirmation email had no contact what so ever. The purchase was only for a blazer. I cancelled the order within the 14 day cancellation period that Guess what? No acknowledgement of the cancellation. Bank now getting involved to claw money back. This company are looking to rip people off. AVOID.

"Really enjoyable buying experience!"
I took the plunge on buying a suit online from Rich at The British Tweed Company, with some trepidation. I have had several suits made, but usually the traditional way with a first and second fitting. So buying online felt slightly unusual. But the attention to detail from Rich and the passion he clearly has for his business made this a great experience. The communication was good and lots of detail was requested and provided - as you would expect / hope for. I am really pleased with the finished product - better than I had expected. The fit is really good and the attention to detail on the suit is great. I got good advice on the main cloth and the lining, as well as other parts of the detailing. I have had several compliments and was very glad of a good tweed suit on a business trip to a very chilly London in November!!
Having lived in Asia for over 10 years now, I am a big fan of and believer in buying British. So getting a suit made from British tweed cloth and also sewn in Britain, is very enjoyable.
Separately having read some of the other comments, I think some folk may be being a little unrealistic. If you are going to get a suit made then you need to allow time. To expect something within (eg) a couple of weeks is just not realistic when buying tailoring. So if you are going to get a suit made, give yourself (and Rich) a decent amount of time!
