"Excellent service at the Banbury branch"

Excellent service provided by the Banbury branch. Tried contact lenses for the first time and the staff were all friendly, helpful and patient. Never had to wait long to be seen to and they always answered the phone straight away.
All round top notch experience and so would highly recommend to anyone in the area. Thank you.

Ripped off- paid £250 for a pair of Mulberry glasses only to realise outside they’re being sold for no more than £115 max- same exact frame. M&S rip you off glasses frame prices I am absolutely appalled- will not be recommending to anyone.

"Ok so apologies as the staff were nice…"

Ok so apologies as the staff were nice at Gateshead metro centre . I paid over £500 for a pair of variofocals with tinted lenses. I noticed after a year the tint wasn’t even and some wear , took them back and as it was a week after the year I bought them , they said nothing they could do . Quite sad really

"Absolutely appalled to hear that M&S…"

Absolutely appalled to hear that M&S opticians in chichester are asking optical assistants to put on different uniform during their quiet times and go and stack food shelves in their supermarket. All these big companies need to STOP exploiting their staff!!! These are clearly two different job titles stop being cheap skates and hire more staff you absolute crooks!!!!

"Don't... Just don't."

M&S Opticians Norwich
First, M&S Opticians are nothing to do with M&S - so says the Chief Executive of M&S. Except, of course, they carry the M&S name, reside on the M&S website, they are "operated by Owl Optical Ltd on behalf of Marks & Spencer plc" and operate from M&S premises. I was duped into expecting M&S quality and service, which is why I bought from them. What a chump.
Long (14 months) story short, the eye test was rapid but cpmprehensive. But the dispensing was rubbish, sold the wrong frames (manager's words, not mine) and the second frames were no better, the arms were too short (Dispensed by the manager).
After a total of 11 visits I called time and demanded my £700 back. Was insulted by an offer of 5% off another pair of glasses!!!
After getting nowhere, was referred to the Optical Consumer Complaints Service (paid for by opticians...). Turns out they're just a legal practice. They are mediators, not regulators and the piper clearly calls the tune.
After 67 days of chasing with no response, sent them a broadside and within 3 days had a final offer from M&SO for £120 for the frames, but I hadn't complained about the lenses so they must be OK... Like they're worth anything without the frames.
That was 5 months after I first demanded refund and I was worn down by it all. so shrugged my shoulders, accepted the offer and wrote off the other £580. A very expensive mistake.
IMHO, M&S are complicit with Owl Optical by allowing them to associate so closely and misrepresent themsleves. Their Chief Executive does not share my opinion and M&S have permanently lost a customer of over half a century.
As a postscript, my wife bought glasses from them at about the same time (14 months ago) and is now on the 4th set of frames, which are also faulty.
To M&S Opticians directly: There is absolutley no point responding to this with your usual platitudes. You will just embarrass yourselves further.

"Not ideal customer experience (Camberly store)"

Visited Camberley store on 2nd Jan. Impressed with the Eye tests. Ordered glasses same time. Frames were delivered Jan-end after several follow-ups and number of visits to the store. After only one week of use the frame started showing issues with one of the sides creaking. Returned frame to store to fix, store offered another frame as compensation and also would be fixing the existing one. I have been asked to visit the store again for measurements.

Its not been ideal customer experience. Its February and still don't have the frames. Had to visit store several times for getting glasses done is not acceptable.
Next time I would go with other brands for higher quality and excellent service.

"Carly was very helpful"

Carly was very helpful and clearly is well trained, knows the stock of frames and what would suit the customer. She also tightened a loose arm on an old pair of spectacles. I would return for the same offer again, which was 'buy 1 pair, get second half price'. I particularly appreciated being able to choose a different frame for the second pair. I didn't feel rushed at any time.
