"Excellent Collaboration"

I've been working with Sam Loughlin on clearing songs for my feature since 2023. He has met every challenge that we encountered with solutions and a positive attitude and worked hard to make sure we ended up with the pieces we wanted, and has remained helpful and responsive as small questions come up as we prep the film for distribution. My only regret is not hiring him earlier!

"Stay Away from Music Gateway"

After signing up to their website to see what Music Gateway had to offer ahead of an EP release, I quickly realised their services were not for me. I only signed into the account once, and that was in 2023. Fast forward two years later, and they “upgraded” my free account to a premium account, which in turn charged me £25. When emailing them to ask for a refund, I assumed it was just a mistake on their part. They explained they no longer offer a free service and that they had emailed me explaining the upgrade was opt-out only; meaning if I didn’t delete my account, they would assume that they could take £25 off me. I did not receive that email nor did I consent or need the service.

The decent and honest way to remove the free service would be to suspend all the features of their service until the customer decided on the upgrade to the paid-for service.

However, the route they chose is completely unethical, possibly illegal, and seems to me like they were looking to make a quick buck off their pool of customers. They refused a refund under the grounds that this practice was stated in their Ts&Cs. My bank has blocked them and will be investigating further.

Furthermore, I cannot access my account to cancel my account due to a pop-up requirement asking me to link my artist page to my profile, which is a prerequisite to be able to use their site. I don’t have an artist account to link it to. So they seemingly have made it impossible for me to be able to delete the account. They provided a support email; however, when you email that, they say that particular inbox is not monitored and that I should use their AI customer service bot, Luna. The BOT is only accessible via their website, which, as I said above, is inaccessible to me.

Looking at Trustpilot, Facebook, and Google reviews, it seems that I am one of possibly 100s of people who have lost money over this.

To those people who check these reviews before signing up for a service, consider this. Do you really want to work with a company that would do something like this?

"'The company that steals from poor people'"

Absolute scam! I tried this for one time last year in July for a free master. It didn't work and I didn't end up with the master. I cancelled and never used the website again. 8 months later in mid March, after not even logging into my account and having no correspondence with me at all, £17 is taken (stolen) from my account. I check my emails to find one from Music Gateway saying that they're cancelling their free model and moving me onto a paid model (which I did not consent to). Then they will start charging me if I didn't reply to the email. Surely, this isn't legal? I did not even see the email and with no confirmation from my end, they took the money from my account using my bank details I signed up to their free offer for (which I cancelled right away). Do not trust this company, it seems like a clear breach of data protection, using my bank details to charge me for something I did not consent to. A completely unethical company and I will be spreading the word to all of my music contacts and social media about this. I am absolutely disgusted at this company's practice. Please, do not even try this thieving company.

They say to contact their support but then deny your refund saying that they sent the initial email (that they did not receive confirmation from). Absolute theives!

"They’re SCAMMERS, Stay away at all costs and here’s why"

They’re SCAMMERS, PLEASE stay away from this platform, they’re just here to steal money, We all know the ceo of that platform Jon Skinner, I did some deep research on him, His dark past and his horrible reputation speaks for themselves, His shady businesses are FULL of Fraud, Scam, Blackmail, & money laundering allegations, and his businesses are all getting sued by a lot of people, Even by people that work for him, His platforms are falling apart as they are involved in a lot of hot mess, Im going to sue this platform as soon as possible.

"Scam Gateway"

I used to have a free account with Music Gateway and quite enjoyed the platform in the beginning.

However, I haven't used it for two years + now, so imagine my surprise when I received an email telling me I had to 'opt out' or they'd start charging me £25 a month. Surely the ethical thing to do would be to get people to... opt in!? Radical, I know.

I attempted to 'opt out' but their website had a pop-up that required me to click that I agreed to a new pro account and to import my artists. I couldn't click off it to navigate the rest of the site. Why would I do this when I no longer use my account and want to opt-out?

So anyway. I was charged £25. I requested a refund. They refused. Thankfully my bank agreed and gave it back to me.

Incredibly unethical business practice and outrageous that they refused a refund despite being given clear evidence as to why they shouldn't have charged me.

If you've had a similar experience, speak to your bank.

"Terrible company"

Terrible company. Signed up for a free account a year ago and they have charged me for a paid account. They change their t&c’s to suit themselves, genuinely avoid at all costs.

"Sleazy at best; possibly just criminals."

I guess I must have created a free account sometime last summer (I was trying out a lot of music production services at the time). They seem to have recently "upgraded" me and started charging my credit card $20 a month with no meaningful consent from me (I mean who knows what TOS I might have agreed to). Will be seeing about having charges reversed.
