At first I thought I had finally found a good online health food product supplier (which I have been looking for for some time). However, when a product quality issue did occur - Biona Tempeh which was part black and dark brown, instead of the pale brown of soya beans and the white of the tempeh mycelium - I have found the company refuses to properly refund me. Their latest email says that 'We do ask customers to commit to getting in touch within 24 hours if anything is different from expected in their order'. Do they expect you to open every jar on the day it arrives? I bought a long life storage cupboard product. I discovered that it was not as expected 23 days later, and contacted them on the same day. The product looked considerably different to any tempeh I have made or bought before. I did not want to consume it as it looked as if it was not safe. I checked all the jars I had bought, in case any were usable, but they were all similarly discouloured. I received a statement saying that it was in fact safe to eat 13 days after opening the product. The product label says it should be consumed within 3 days of opening. I have yet to discover if Healthy Supplies think that I should eat any product, whatever it looks like, before getting reassurance from the manufacturer, or if they think I should eat it 13 days after opening. They have finally offered a coupon for the cost of one jar (added to the value of a coupon which they issued in lieu of a discount which failed to apply to my first order), but I had bought six jars, all of which did not look edible to me. I am not likely to order again from a company which does not refund for unusable products, so their coupon is useless to me (unless they do now increase the value to cover the price I paid for products which I could not use).

RE: even though on the label it says various countries, you should still be able to provide full traceability for all ingredients, meaning you should have supplier's declarations which should state the provenience of the raw materials / ingredients, etc.

Bought 13 items, 6 had defects with quality, missing ingredient info or false ingredient info. I reported the 3 worst to healthysupplies. 1: Half dead unpoppable popping corn. Tried both microwave and pan but corn melted the bowl before popping. They said they 'are currently unable to cook this' so not really testing to assure quality. 2: Their carrot powder lacked any orange colour or carrot flavour so either massively diluted or extremely stale. They just said 'Carrot Powder is 100% pure' which offers no info on any checks or tests. 3: Their Pumpkin Seed Protein Powder was brown not green as listed and only part powdered with inedible texture and flavour. They claimed to have 'conducted a series of tests on all our samples from the batch of the Organic Austrian Pumpkin Seed Protein Powder you told us about, and haven't found any quality issues at all' without saying what was tested, since the non-powder defect is obvious to sight, texture and flavour. Total loss of both colour and flavour is not natural variation or caused by milling, it is explainable only by massive dilution or extreme age. Nutritional quality would be zero or negative. They refunded the corn, refused my offer to return reported items, refused refunds for the 2 worst (and most expensive) items, unhelpfully saying 'we hope you're able to use it'. They offered a £5 discount code, unusable after my experience. Will avoid since their quality checks miss obvious defects or aren't happening at all.
