"I too took on the 100GB Free for "Life"..."
I too took on the 100 GB "Free for life" cold storage account on 3rd August 2018....just a year later, access denied without taking a subscription via yearly payment!?
No emails have been sent to me warning of this and I have lost file restore privileges.
I see that Zoolz say that they have ended the free accounts to concentrate on their paying subscribers, but then to offer this in the first place was bad planning/management/marketing and would put me off using them in the future.
NOTE: To be fair, Zoolz have made contact with me since my original review here and gave me temporary access to my files in order to download. Whilst still annoying that free for life actually only meant a year, their customer service did well.
I have therefore amended my rating to 2 stars from the original one.

"100gb Lifetime account deleted"
I'm one of those who subscribed for a 100gb lifetime free account.
Now, Zoolz company have deleted all existing free accounts..
What does "lifetime" means?
If they don't keep their promises, how can you trust them anymore?

Deleted my free account and therefore my documents without warning or any communication.
Fortunately I keep all my documents in more than one place, so I had not lost anything.
I would not trust this company with any valuable documents.
Edit: nice reply. Apportioning all blame to the customer. Way to go 👍🏻. Take note of how long it took me to reply to your comment - that's because my phone notifies me when I get emails. Just like everyone else.
I never said the word 'scam' once. This goes to show your reply to me was a template reply you use. Suggesting that I'm not the only customer to raise this issue.

The customer service is excellent. !! It's the download speed was very very slow. Fix that and you have a good product.

"Good set of features for a reasonable price"
I am migrating from Crashplan as it became too expensive. So I signed up for 1TB of cold storage to run an off-site backup for my home server.
Buy default it backs up to AWS in the USA. As an Australian customer I wanted to store my data in AWS Sydney region. I had to contact the Sales team and they helped me to re-sign up to Sydney AWS region. I wish the sign-up process was more transparent and I had the option to select AWS region from the beginning.
Now I am getting faster upload speed, up to 18GBytes/hour.
The deduplication feature works very well, I ran the initial backup from a different server in a different location with faster network then I re-ran the same dataset backup from the home server. Due to deduplication it doesn’t re-upload the whole dataset.
The restore takes a few hours to start, this is expected as the data stored in AWS Glacier.
I am OK with this approach as it is my offsite last resort backup copy which I hope never to restore from.
Overall I am happy with the product so far, it is a good set of features for a reasonable price.

"Free Zoolz account expired"
I have Zoolz free lifetime 100G. Unfortunately few days ago I received note: Zoolz account expired. I didn't receive any information in advance. I have about 80G data stored on Zoolz.
My brother is a lawyer and if they do not want me to extend a free lifetime account, I plan to write a suit. You can read consumer rights act 2015, section 50 for breach of contract.
Therefore It's a scam. That's why we plan to sue Zoolz through court. Here and in various blogs I will look for clients with similar experience which can contact me via Trustpilot.

I love the storage and access, but I get frustrated when I can't speak to a support person to ask questions.

"I signed up for the zoolz free lifetime…"
I signed up for the zoolz free lifetime 100 GB backup and loved it for a very long time, but just this week I received a notice on my laptop that said my account was expired. I sent a message to customer support to see what happened only to be told: "It's with deep regret that we have been forced into this position to end free accounts." PS they never sent a notification that this was going to happen and now I can't even download my information without paying for it. This is obviously a horribly ran company and I would never spend a penny with them.
