It would’ve be a 5 star review but the 3rd party delivery company didn’t delivery on the day it was meant to (Friday). One of us had to stay home all day. Then rearrange the tiler as they were due Saturday. The tiles arrived Monday.
Besides that. Beautiful tiles and well packaged for transit.

"Off cuts and low quality tiles hidden at bottom of pallet"
I purchased Castilan Limestone tumbled cobblestones from Ca’ Pietra after ordering some samples and liking the look of this tile. When they arrived there was a note on the crate warning to check the right item had been delivered as they couldn't be sent back once they had been laid. I looked inside the pallet and the tile looked just like the sample and the images on their website. It was only once I started to move the tiles from my front garden to the back that I realised something was off. While the tiles in the top row of the pallet looked like what I’d ordered, having a pleasing mixture of colours and lengths, the tiles underneath were smaller, with a rougher finish and lack of colour variation. They were thicker, without a tumbled finish, had a rough sandy surface and rotary tool marks on both sides (the kind you might see on the underside of some natural stone tiles left from manufacturing). Many were covered in dirt / sand. There were a few of the correct tiles in this second row interspersed but even these did not have the same size variation as the row above, mostly just being smaller. The impression this gave was that someone had put a few of the tiles I ordered on top to hide a mixture of smaller offcuts and lower quality tiles underneath. Given the disclaimer about returning tiles once they’d been laid, I could easily have just checked the top of the pallet and left the trades person who's putting down my patio to do their work, only to discover when it’s too late that the tiles were not what they seemed. It looked very dodgy, but I assumed it must have just been some unfortunate mistake. I contacted Ca’ Pietra to ask what was going on and heard back from the retailer (I’d purchased through a retailer partner of theirs, but I understand it was shipped directly from Ca’ Pietra) that Ca’ Pietra were claiming these were in fact the correct tiles. When I mentioned the rotary tool marks on both sides of the tiles, the retailer agreed it seemed off and said they’d try with Ca’ Pietra again. We’ll see what they say, but it’s the weekend now and the tiles are supposed to be laid next week. A situation I’d informed Ca Pietra about. Very disappointing and stressful.
