As a landlord who was with them for a very short time, I made two complaints concerning 1) Repairs and maintenance and 2) Rent payments, both against the company they use to contract out these services (Sequence). After exhausting their internal complaints procedures I took them to the Property Ombudsman who held up my two complaints against Sequence. Don’t use them.

"Very unprofessional"
Very disappointed with my experience with this agent. Arranged to view a rental property in Farringdon. The first agent I spoke with over the phone was great, she was very helpful in arranging a date and time and follow up communication to confirm was spot on.
On the day I dealt with a different agent who was very unprofessional. Firstly he was not there on time. He eventually arrived 15min late as the next person was also arriving for their viewing, no apologies or explanation given. While I was waiting I called the office twice and was told each time that he should be there and they’d message him. As I was about to leave to attend another viewing in the area his car pulled up.
As the agent was late, I had very little time to view the property. To make matters worse, the agent had clearly not properly arranged access to the property for the viewing. The occupants were in, completely unaware that there would be viewings that day, and in the middle of packing their belongings ahead of their move. This meant that there was limited access to the flat, and it was difficult to judge it as a potential tenant.
And once inside the property the agent seemed to be more of a shadow than anything useful. Nothing was said to try and showcase the good features of the property or about anything really. I asked a couple of questions and the occupants answered these rather than the agent. I also asked about the application process, the agent gave scant details and has not followed up with any useful information via email, text, phone call or business card as I have experienced through other ‘professional’ letting agencies.
Before attending the viewing this was one of my favourite properties, and the property itself may be fine, but my brief experience with such an unprofessional person has tainted my view of this letting agent. It may be that this is a one off occurrence and maybe they do have other ‘professional’ staff, but this experience has put me off dealing with this company.
To sum up: disorganised, unpunctual, poorly informed and completely unprofessional Avoid!!!

"HOME IS NOW WHERE MY HEART IS"
I can't begin to express my appreciation for the personal and professional service that the staff in the Chippenham office have provided.
I was in the unenviable position of being in the middle of life's five biggest stressors including divorce and (consequently) needing to find somewhere to live, fast, within a tight budget and in a central location. I had been around the letting agencies in town to register, but due to my status as having been previously bankrupt I was met with short shrift, disinterest and dismissiveness. Not so at Allen and Harris.
I was positively welcomed by Matthew Hooper, the Lettings Manager who not only quickly got me 'on the books' but actively offered solutions to my wish list. Almost overnight Jessica Burnell, Lettings Negotiator was on the case. Each time I popped into the office there was always someone on hand, from the Senior Branch Manager to the Sales team willing and happy to help if either of these two were out on business.
In short, within a couple of weeks I had the keys to my new home and was extremely happy.
I am not sure whether or not vetting and contracting with good landlords is a feature of their service but a review would not be complete without a mention of mine...super caring, fast acting and not in the least bit superior.
Thank you all involved. I hope I prove to be a model tenant for some time to come.

As a rule I do not normally do reviews: although in this case I’ll make an exception:
Allen&Harris have been absolutely amazing after taking over as sole Agents the sale of my home I cannot not praise them enough
From the time they picked up the baton from a wasteful fourteen weeks with a another agent “in days Allen&Harris had their sign for Sale up outside the door”, another couple of days passed and the photographer was at the house taking photos very professionally accomplished
I cannot praise the whole team enough from Vicky’ who was at the helm and Melonie’ sales administrator and other team members the whole operation was as smooth as silk
I was also introduced to a solicitor who handled my affairs on the conveyancing side with swiftness and professionalism taking a lot of the usual pressures out of my hands
Every step of the sale was impressive keeping me notified every step of the way even notifying me of scheduled appointments to the house of interested viewers: not unusual you may think however they have the keys am I am on holiday.

Don’t do the same as me and waste fourteen weeks choose “Allen&Harris”.

"If I could leave a zero I would"
If I could leave a zero I would. As a tenant I have had the worst experience with this company. No communication whatsoever. Arrived to my new home to discover a bulging ceiling from leak, condemned Boole so no heating during December, the property had not been cleaned so was foul smelling and the drain was severely blocked. I’ve reported all this to them and they still haven’t fixed the drain which has now resulted in the property flooding and causing damage to my appliances and wooden furniture. Phoned on Saturday morning as soon as I was able and was fobbed off. I have had no one to contact and been sat in my damp house with the squelching carpets and kitchen flooor all this for £800 a month. Bloody joke

If i could i would leave zero star.
They misled me, at the first meeting and valuation, promised things but didn't deliver, they encouraged me to accept the first offer as buyers were cash buyers, this turned out it was not the case.
The deal fell through when allegedly my buyers buyers pulled out, two weeks before the moving date.
Most untrustworthy agents I've ever dealt with, I'm disabled,with several chronic illnesses, the whole experience made me very ill, from August 2022 to date 8th Jan 2923 I'm still in my home surrounded by boxes packed up to move.

"Buying and selling my home with Allen and Harris"
I used the Highworth branch of Allen and Harris and cannot recommend them highly enough . Having decided to move after my husband died they were with me every step of the way and couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful. Having a lot of problems with the conveyancing was most upsetting and yet nothing was too much trouble for the staff in helping me with the online forms and other problems I encountered with DC Law especially Andy , Chris, Molly and Gemma .

"First time buyer so definitely lacking…"
First time buyer so definitely lacking in experience when shown around the property I was interested in August. When I went to view the property I got a very lack luster response from the employee showing me around. I went ahead and made an offer at asking price on the property I was informed another party was interested and it went to best and final. My offer on a property was accepted. On rightmove it never said sold stc and as I started the process of giving my information etc and paying for searches. I learned about two weeks later that even after my offer had been accepted the previous person that had placed an offer also had placed a higher offer but that the owners were sticking with me. I started getting worried and was trying to move the process ahead to buy the property best I could. A month of so into the process Allen and Harris contacted me again to say that the owner was no longer going with my offer and yet again the other bidder had increased there offer. They asked if I was willing to go higher and I stated I was at the top of my budget as is. They than went ahead with this other party. This week in November I received a call to say the property was back up for sale. I quickly said I was not interested and buying a different property. I thought from start to finish with them they where very unprofessional and the specific employee I dealt with was not particularly interested in dealing with me and wanted a better price on the property probably for her own benefit.

Really lovely staff with great customer service. Very good communication over email and the phone. Bought my first home through them and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience
