I recently rented from the Hertz Dream Collection and had a very positive experience overall. The standout customer service was provided by Sumit, Jeremy, and Alex, who ensured a smooth and enjoyable rental process. I was particularly impressed when Sumit went above and beyond, showing me pictures of the Porsche 911 Turbo S I booked for my brother's wedding, which greatly aided in my decision. The car, a beautifully clean Range Rover, was ready with a full tank and a seamless handover. Chris and Ian at Heathrow were courteous and knowledgeable, adding to the pleasant experience. Although there was a minor hiccup with an upgrade on a previous rental that didn't suit my luggage needs, Hertz's selection of luxury cars and transparent pricing remain commendable. I look forward to my next UK road trip with Hertz and would recommend their service to others. Overall, it's a solid 4-star experience.

"Scammed at Hertz Dream Collection Heathrow Airport"

As a valued Hertz President's Circle member and loyal patron of the Hertz Dream Collection, I regret to report a deeply disappointing experience with a Hertz Dream Collection franchise at Heathrow Airport. My encounter has left me compelled to caution fellow travelers and urge careful consideration when engaging with this particular franchise, as my experience hints at potential irregularities and deceptive practices.

In anticipation of my journey from Singapore to the UK via Barcelona, I meticulously arranged for a Porsche rental through Hertz Dream Collection. However, shortly before my arrival, I received a last-minute email and call notifying me of a vehicle replacement. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a non-employee who hastily handed over the keys. To my dismay, there was no formal inspection of the vehicle, and the attendant disappeared without ensuring our satisfaction or addressing any concerns.

Our disappointment compounded when we noticed a concerning issue with the rear wheel, particularly noticeable during slow turns, rendering the vehicle unsafe for travel—especially considering the inclement weather and the fatigue from a lengthy flight. Despite our efforts to seek resolution, including engaging with a Hertz representative named Ian and the franchise owner, Sumit, no suitable replacement or alternative arrangement was offered. Instead, we were met with audacity as we were threatened with additional charges if we refused to accept the compromised vehicle.

Subsequent attempts to address the situation were met with apathy, with no meaningful follow-up until the final day of my trip, nearly four days later, when I escalated the matter through an official complaint. It is with great disappointment that I find myself compelled to pursue recourse through consumer protection channels, seeking a refund for the substandard service and the full or nothing charge levied despite the impolite treatment and disregard for customer satisfaction.

In conclusion, I am left with no choice but to take this matter to the consumer court, where I will seek restitution for the disheartening experience and the breach of trust exhibited by this particular Hertz Dream Collection franchise.

I have been unable to get an answer to a serious question with regards to using a HERTZ hire car in Spain. I would be grateful if someone could ring me. I've also been over charged for the vehicle once I arrived in Spain. Awful experience.

"A shockingly bad experience"

Rented a 992 Carrera S4 on Thursday 28th. After a very smooth collection process, I was unfortunately in receipt of one of the worst return experiences ever. It ended up taking 1 1/2 hours of trying to convince someone to check the car in. I was told that a) it was in the terms and conditions that I should just drop the car off and it will be checked in on the next working day (Monday). b) the company would accept no liability until if was formally checked in on the next working day. c) I had and recorded a call where I was also informed if I had a problem to call head office immediately. I was told this knowing that head office was not available and I would only be able to contact the vehicle recovery team.
As a customer I am struggling to understand why a) I was not informed of the return procedure at the time of collection. b) despite calling on Monday in an obviously distressed state why I was asked what my issue was with the lies, inconvenience and just general lack of customer service. c) there seemed to be a real disinterest on how I was feeling and being affected.
If you want to create a stressful experience, worry about your not insignificant deposit and be treated like an imbecile then I would hire a car from this organisation.
My conversations with the staff left a lot to be desired. I experienced and am still experiencing a lot of anxiety over the whole ordeal. The company has ruined what should have been a beautiful weekend of a friends wedding and grandsons birthday with their continued treatment of me whilst taking my money (a total of just under 1500GBP for 2 days usage). Also reviewing some of the other comments it appears management and senior management are just paying lip service to improving the service… Asked what I wanted this morning by manager, I think it is what anyone would want. Not to be treated in an indecent way by a company you are paying your hard earned cash to for an experience.

Update following reply: interesting that you don’t see the cause for any anxiety. I knew that I had taken excellent care of the rental. When hiring the car it was explicit that I was returning it on Saturday which I now know is out of hours. A simple explanation would have sufficed. In addition during a very tense recorded conversation I was told if I had a problem to call head office. I did so only to be put through to a recovery service which Chris who I was speaking to knew. This caused anxiety because why lie? In addition when reviewing the form it was checked out in a name other than Chris who checked it out. I do not understand why you cannot see how “trusting” that a car that carries significant deposit and is returned in perfect order is not damaged by someone with no liability for their actions is not worrying. Also when I did finally speak to the head office to complain I was told by the manager Ian he didn’t understand why I had an issue. I was also informed the drop off procedure was present on the document wallet I was given. In recollection I am not sure I was given one. In short I refute your dismissal of these concerns and think the very least you could do is apologise. Never OK to dismiss someone else’s anxiety. Never OK to allow a persons concerns to be treated as trivial or inconsequential. It appears that the effect that your accumulated actions may have on your customers mental health is of little concern to you. Also I can see from previous reviews why my fears were founded. So not OK.
