"East Midlands to Newquay"

Used the new East Midlands to Newquay service this week and can honestly say it was brilliant! Having endured many a torturous hour on the M5/6/42 motorways over the years - this was such a pleasurable experience. Wouldn’t necessarily be practical for everyone, but as I have family based in that part of the world and go regularly, it is a no brainier. When comparing cost of fuel with flight price, it is cheaper (flying solo), but not much more in it if there were more of you (particularly if you can be economical with luggage).

"Above and Beyond"

My wife, daughter and I used Eastern Airways to fly from Humberside Airport in the UK Esbjerg in Denmark. We had a number of reasons for choosing Eastern: The proximity, as Humberside is only a 10 minute drive away; and our daughter has a disability that requires her to have lots of medical equipment with her in the cabin; she requires mechanical ventilation, via a trachea when flying and it was our daughters first flight. We believed Eastern as a small local airline could provide the service we would need to make the trip a success.
They did not disappoint. From my initial communication with customer services, to our 2 flights, all the staff were helpful, considerate and went above and beyond. Nothing was too much trouble and they pulled out all the stops to ensure the medical equipment could be accommodated. At one point the captain of the plane enquired with the air steward about our daughter’s welfare. Very impressed and would not hesitate to use the airline again. We have told friends and family about the route offered by Eastern and recommended them for a break to Denmark. Cannot praise the airline enough and special mention to Alice in customer services, air stewards Lilly and Mike and the plane’s captain who was on both journeys.

"5th delayed flight in a row?????"

You have CONSISTENTLY delayed flights, witheld information and misled us with wrong information. We are frequent flyers from.London to Newquay (where we live) and your shoddy airline is adding HUGE amounts of stress to what should be really simple journeys.WHY THE CONSTANT DELAYS????? It makes no sense. We will be making a formal complaint to your head office. Disgraceful way to run an airline.

"Schedule changes... twice and no email from airline"

We flew to and from Gatwick to Newquay. On both flights the schedule was changed. Spoke to the airline staff and to the ground staff both said it was the airline's fault for not informing the customers

The change on the way out was 30mins, not too bad. Still inconvenient. On the way out the change was more than 90mins (including boarding delay)
When I phone customer service this morning, I was informed that this was an operational delay and was the ground staff's fault. For both instances....

There's a common denominator here and it's the airline. The woman I just spoke to could not care less... Won't be flying with them again

"Extremely unhelpful customer service…"

Extremely unhelpful customer service when speaking with the CS team. A life changing event meant my Mother could not physically fly given she is in hospital fighting for life. The team wouldn't even offer a voucher for the flights! Given the circumstances I find this absolutely disgusting to not even show some sympathy to the situation. All they've done is add stress

"Absolute joke of an airline"

Booked flights for a one-day business trip, flying out in the morning and returning in the evening. With a week to go, Eastern Airways notified that the time of the outbound flight had been moved back by 10 hours, so I would be flying out after I was supposed to have boarded the return flight!

Ridiculous airline; you can’t even check in online if you didn’t book with them directly. This would have been my first trip with them and I certainly won’t be using them again.

"Administrative mistake or systematic fraud ?"

On January 12th 2023 I tried to check in with Eastern Airways at London Gatwick for a return flight to Newquay Cornwall.
When presenting written and electronic confirmation for the flight I was told the flight was booked for February 12th !
When presenting my evidence to Eastern Airways Customer Services later I was told that my paperwork could have been tampered with and it was up to me to prove that it was not !
There was space left on the aircraft on January 12th so I was forced to pay £ 114.99 for a seat that I had already paid for.
Eastern Airways customer services was very uncooperative and quick to accuse me of having tempered with flight details. This almost suggests that this is a systematic way of generating extra income ?
For any passenger experiencing similar issues be warned and use credit card only so to be able to initiate a Section 75 claim with your bank.

Today I made my first flight alone as my sister was unwell.
I travelled from Gatwick to Newquay
Cabin staff were happy and more than helpful
Captain had a sense of humour
Weather good

"Very disorganised and unreliable"

Flight cancelled from Southampton to Manchester, saw people leave the airport to make other plans. Then half an hour later uncancelled. No announcements or information. Checking in took an absolute age as nothing working. The other operator at check-in had completed check-in of about 30 people in the time it took Eastern to do 5. Next time first flight of the day at 6.45. Nothing to indicate any delay, on arrival check in then told delayed to 9am.no information as to why. 8.30 told technical fault, 9.15 told another plane being de iced cabin crew being sourced departure would now be 10am. Eventually depart around 10.35, almost 4 hours late.
