"Great policy choices"

I have used Healthy Pets insurance for all of my previous cats and never had a problem. I unfortunately had to claim once and the process was easy and hassle free.
Although some comparison sites look cheaper, I still decided to go with Healthy Pets as I trust them and know its a good policy.

"Do not use this company."

Do not use this company.
They require constant chasing, even my Vets Practice said "I will send you the email I send them as they always say nothing received".
My vets sent the email to the address on the claims form, when I called 3 weeks later for an update I was told nothing had been received. I forwarded the email from my vets to their customer care team and was assured it would be dealt with. I followed up again a week later and was told no emails had been received. I resent the claims forms and the vets email and finally received an email saying my email had been received and I would hear back in 3-5 days. I heard nothing, have chased again and the claims are in the email waiting to be assessed. Its a joke, if you want to have pet insurance that pays out in a timely manner use another company.

"Just awful - avoid"

Just awful.
My cat was killed by a dog in October and after 2 months of dicking me about Healthy Pets have today sent me an email saying they will not pay death benefit because the purchase price on my policy is listed as £0. This is not correct, and I have it showing correctly on the annual insurance schedules for my policy.
Losing a pet is tragic, it shouldn't also involve having to deal with this level of nonsense.

"Do not use"

I have sent the information as requested today.

Do not use! I have had pets for the best part of 45 years and had insurances and have found them useful and helpful. But this one!

They state a 10 day claim processing service but since day 14 I have called only to be told they cannot see my claim which means it's still being processed. Called today which is now 4 weeks since the claim was emailed by our vet with all the reports attached and still I am being told they cannot see my claim. That's it! They cannot see my claim. No help no advice just that simple usless answer.

I will raise it with the regulator.

Do not use them!

"Claims remained unprocessed for weeks…"

Claims remained unprocessed for weeks upon weeks.

Almost 5 weeks ago, we submitted a claim, which the website said would be 10 days to be processed, as well as the customer services team. We were then told it would be 4 weeks, so we waited patiently.

Now, after 5 weeks, we're told it will be 5-6 weeks. Unfortunately for us that takes us into Christmas, so is likely to be 7-8 weeks and then who knows how long after.

The claims team aren't able to provide any update or timescale, which is concerning that it is still not in sight. They sympathise with the frustration, but that is only part of the pain, coupled with the anxiety, sleepness nights alongside the trauma of what actually happened to our pet.

We are not expecting this will speed up the claim, but we do hope it give insight for others to look elsewhere. We are also preparing that if our claim is successful, the last penalty will be for our remaining policy premium to be taken. I do encourage any potential customers to look at the recent 1 star reviews as we are all saying the same thing.

The vets are putting us under pressure and they too now will not recommend use of Healthy Pets, but other companies. So already they have lost potential customers, and it is disappointing that they aren't able to support the claims of their existing ones too.

"Huge yearly premium increases"

This year healthy pets tried to increase my insurance premium by no less then 48%. Reasons given: pet’s age and past illnesses. Except my cat is 2 years old and has never been ill. When I clarified this point they changed their excuse, blaming vets for raising their prices. Another moot point, since vets have NOT increased their prices by 48% in one year, obviously.

What they don’t mention is that they probably belong to the same group as the vets they claim increased their tariff, they’ve got to a in a head lock, it’s ridiculous.

So I cancelled their proposed contract renewal and started a new one, at pretty much the same price as what I’ve been paying for the past year. It shows that this company is no better than all insurance companies, and shamelessly try to rip off their customers. Don’t believe what they say for one second when they pretend to propose no surprise contracts, they’re the worse.

And now of course they offer to contact their support as they don’t want the bad publicity. I did, many times, to no avail whatsoever!
