"Really bad customer care system that needs replacing "
My 4pm wine delivery was broken on arrival. The driver asked if I would like to take a bag of broken glass and wine or refuse the delivery. I refused and asked if they would re deliver. He tapped on he’s phone for ages then said the store would contact me. I waited 20 minutes but the store was silent. I then contacted customer support and they told me the order had been refused so cancelled. They tried to ring the store to reorder for me but couldn’t get through. They asked if I could go to the store myself which surely negates the idea of a delivery service. I said no. They said they could refund me and I could order again. I asked how long the refund would take and he said 3-5 days. I said no. They eventually got the store to pick up and said they had rebooked my order. Again I waited 20 minutes and there was no confirmation message that my order had been processed. I had to ring customer service again and they confirmed it.
The point was not broken bottles but the total lack of customer care and communication. Surely if a delivery is not fit for purpose the priority is to make sure that the customer gets their order asap with apologies. I had paid for a service and goods and had not suddenly decided I didn’t want them. The co-op certainly seemed to think this. They really need to up their game in this area because there is a lot of competition out there and this was sloppy and amateurish.

"Is my fruit fresh? Probably not for long"
Update: tried to buy oranges and got a box with pure mould at the bottom. Disgusting food practise. They have removed the use by dates on the fruit but they have also removed the produced date. So I know these oranges were packaged at 10.32am but could have been 6 weeks ago for all I know. I know you can tell when most fruit is off and use by date is just a guide but you could be buying fruit past its use date full price. If you’ve worked in retail you know what behind the scenes looks like. A small bit of product mid management and your eating manky old fruit. In fact what even stops them from selling all the old fruit first? Chances are after this has been rolled out for a few months all you’ll end up with is old fruit being sold at top price. The fresh fruit will be in the back getting old for everyone. Then they can turn around and say we’re saving the environment when they’re just taking more from our pockets. We love the environment so much it’s going to cost our customers. I try to shop elsewhere but there are 3 bloody co ops on my road can’t move for them

"Disgraceful online shopping service"
This is totally unbelievable. I placed an order online at 2.15pm today and was given a slot of between 3 and 4pm for delivery. It is now 7.45pm! and after ringing the customer care line four times, have just found out that they have cancelled my order. I've had to cancel a doctors appointment because I was told on the first call, it would be arriving before 6pm. Now I find myself without anything in for my tea. I am a 63yr old disabled lady who is practically housebound and I'm completely in a mess. No apologies from the call centre, nothing. Just an email saying your order has been cancelled.
I'm fuming and will never shop with this company again. Bringing the order even at a later hour would have been better than leaving me in this situation. Disgraceful.

"Totally Confusing Membership Card System"
Totally confusing membership card system. We are told that our cards are the wrong type despite that fact that the cashiers can swipe the bar code and give us points. Apparently, this type of card does not entitle us to discounts.

"Delivery just now late for about the…"
Delivery just now late for about the 6th time or possibly more since I've been ordering from them. 4 Items that were showing in stock never arrived due to out of stock and the items I did receive (fruit) are best before tomorrow's date and battered (one strawberry so bashed it's smelling off and juice was in the Carrier bag). Items always missing or incorrect completely or items that show in stock are almost always out of stock. It's the worst online grocery delivery service I have ever used. Absolutely appalling service and I've complained and filled out forms about it and no change. Would give minus stars if could!

"Order never arrived and no refund."
I have used the CoOp online food ordering many times and only had occaisional problems, however, last week a £40+ order never arrived. The tracking message changed quote suddenly from 'on the way - approx 14 mins' to 'complete'. Having left another 30 mins just in case this was a glitch I rang the customer helpline. After taking details I was asked to wait on hold as the driver of the (non) delivery needed to be contacted. After 17mins on hold the call just disconnected.
I then completed a form online asking for a refund.
Eight days later still no refund.I am £40+ down and frankly am quite disgusted at the lack of contact and service.
The original order was picked and
collected so am assuming it was dumped or stolen by the person delivering.
CoOp - you have lost this customer !

"In branch support"
I was helped to create an online banking account and to enable the telephone app. I was served by Georgia at the Exeter Branch.
Georgia was very polite and encouraging. I made lots of mistakes but she never lost patience or looked annoyed. She remained polite and calm. She found ways to help me understand what I was doing. I left feeling I had had an interaction with a very nice person. Thank you Georgia.

"Drastic management action needed."
Drastic management action needed.
I've shopped at the Co-op all my life and I'm retired now. In recent years the shop has changed beyond recognition, as follows:- the product choice is terrible, for instance only a choice of 5 decaff/fancy, single country coffees but not one 'normal' Nescafe/Gold Blend type caffeinated one.
Rude staff. I commented to one that the shop is not as good as it used to be. His reaction was "Go somewhere else then"! (I wrote a letter to the company about that but got no response).
The worst thing though is the insanely high prices which are the highest of all the supermarkets. Prices fluctuate wildly from week to week (cat food especially), from normal price one week, to 50% higher the following week, then back down again, almost like they are trying to catch people out!
Until last year there was at least the Co-op dividend which added up over the year and sort of made shopping there make sense, but since that was removed there is literally no point any more and I drive 2 miles to the next nearest shop instead.
I think that in removing the dividend the Co-op management thought they were being clever - their raison d'etre was that there would be targeted special offers instead to make up for it, but those are few and far between and add up to just a fraction of the dividend incentive.
So, sorry Co-op but you under estimated your customers, we are not the gullible simpletons you think we are and unless you have a radical re-think I fear the worst.
