"Very patient and professional"

David Boucher is very patient and professional dealing with all my queries over three phone calls.
In addition Marcus McNevlin has been a great help with dealing with queries about property matters.
This has allowed me to come up with new ideas for my SIPP.

"Tony Murdoch was extremely helpful"

Tony Murdoch was extremely helpful. The reason for not giving 5 stars is because it took over 3 weeks for the funds to become available from when I initiated the transfer from my investment portfolio to the trustee account so that payment could be made. I had initially been advised it would take 5-7 working days. Although I appreciate the action by Santander Asset Management may be outside the control of James Hay, it is an issue they need to address.

My experience with James Hay, especially Corey has been nothing short of exceptional. He guided me through the entire process when I wanted to release part of my private pension and supported me right till the very end.
Rest assured, I’ll be using James Hay again in the near future.

"James Hay Partnership"

I'm not going to give you a long blog about this company but my partner is not happy the way the
website is set out. Your hours are 9am to 5pm a pain in the "a..e". The account often freezes, and if your not sure what your doing on there website you could lose all your money. Majority of people that have sent a review about this company is True we are going through it Now... We initiated a sum to be withdrawal then it was email after email and a paper form-filled in the info required sent back and more emails -accepted and confirmed. Today I was looking at the figures and noticed they don't add up to what we asked for and we cannot speak to anyone or send an email as the account is frozen, still nothing we are at that point now to withdrawal the lot out and close the account and seek elsewhere. My partner has 45mins break sometimes he has wasted his break for being on the phone waiting to be connected.

"Star downgrade- profound incompetence"

After my previous TrustPilot rant, I received a phone call from a helpful and friendly young man who was full of apologies and promised to resolve my problems. He seemed, and I’m sure was, genuine. On the strength of that call, I upgraded my rating to 3 stars. Sadly, he works (or if he has any sense, worked) for a shockingly bad company who have made another mistake about which I warned them in advance but which in typical fashion they made anyway. My fairly pleasant message last week (“we will respond within 24 hours”) has been ignored presumably because they have so many clients complaining. I have now escalated my query to a complaint and sadly must downgrade them again to 1 star, or as a previous reviewer said, minus stars if possible.

If I could put a minus rating I would. Lack of communication, no dedicated email address/telephone number for the person you need to talk to. They never click on read receipt, so you never know if it has been received. Customer services are hopeless.

"Based on my experience I would not…"

Based on my experience I would not advise anyone invest through James Hay. My Sipp had reasonable charges and a decent choice of funds but problems started when I wanted to take 20% payment from my account. Having completed the fund withdrawal form I was advised that it would take 15 working days for the money to appear in my account. After a couple of weeks I enquired about the withdrawal and was informed I needed to be sent risk advice and on receipt have a 14 day cooling off period when I had already taken UK Gov pensionwise advice. I waived the 14 day period but am still waiting for the money to be paid. Each time I telephone I am told they are escalating my case and I have raised a complaint but have yet to receive any forecast for payment. If you are with James Hay and are considering taking anything from a pension you should allow lots of time!

"I can totally see why these reviews are…"

I can totally see why these reviews are so negative. More of the same really what can I say but GET AWAY from them as soon as you can!!! Now reducing this to one star being kept on hold endlessly. They finally did a drawdown and the amount was wrong well below what it should be .I'm currently investigating their annual fees with them as I believe in the market place they are super high. Watch this space!!. Waiting for my response still from this company about their exorbitant annual fees. Letter received today saying they are going to take another 4 weeks so I will sit tight. Same bullshat answer as I thought I would get Avoid like the plague people!!!!

"James Hay does not deserve any stars"

If I could I would award this company with a zero star for service. My advice to anyone is when you have transferred your money out of James Hay. Check every single entry with a professional person. I have transferred my SIPP to another provider but queried a few transactions. I tried to call them but my calls were never answered. To add further insult JH has now barred me from my online account so I am no longer able to send them messages.

"Probably the worst company I have ever…"

Probably the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Customer service is non existent, they make mistakes, don't act on instruction, don't communicate absolutely appalling. If you can, extricate yourself from them as soon as you can and complain yo the the financial ombudsman, if enough complain perhaps we can get them struck off
