James Hay Partnership

"This is a terrible company"
This is a terrible company. My wife and I took out a SIPP plan with Scottish Widows and the property side of it was managed by Capita. Without our consent, this was transferred to James Hay and property managed by CBRE.
I have no major issue with CBRE. However, James Hay is a very poorly run company with incompetent staff. They appear to take our money and buy dubious insurance policies. I have every intention of asking the ombudsman to investigate their methods.
Judging from other users we don't seem to be alone.

"James Hay issued an erroneous valuation…"
James Hay issued an erroneous valuation statement in Feb 2021 understating the value of my SIPP. I immediately wrote to them as I was extremely concerned at the under valuation. It took James Hay 8 months to respond to my letter. Avoid this bunch of incompetents.

"A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE."
STILL TRYING TO TRANSFER OUR SIPPS TO ANOTHER PROVIDER.
About two months ago, I did say that I would be reporting back once our SIPPS had been fully transferred to another provider, but regrettably this is still ongoing! We are now at about 11 months from the original instruction date! THAT SAYS IT ALL REALLY - my advice ie to avoid the James Hay Partnership at all costs!

"Avoid this provider like the plague"
Avoid this provider like the plague. They are so unprofessional and so expensive. I had a small commercial property in my SIPP. It took me longer to get the proceeds of sale transferred from James Hay than it did to market and sell the property itself!! Their client care is appalling and they treat your money as if it is their own. Their service is simply not fit for purpose. Look elsewhere please!

"For nearly 7 years I have been trying…"
For nearly 7 years I have been trying to transfer my Sipp from James Hay . I have spent close to £50K in legal and other professional fees, that does not include their fees. They simply do not care and it is about time they are taken to task . If anyone knows anyone in the TV/Radio/National press that can expose this organisation I for one would be happy to be interviewed

"Appalling lack of customer focus"
Their lack of customer focus beggars belief. They have updated their payment systems telling funding sources that they didn’t need to change bank account details. Payments in bounced back so no payments out made at the end of March. I have just been informed that as it’s a tax month they’re not running payment programmes to catch up. My money is being retained by them until the end of April at the earliest. They really don’t give a damn. My financial advisor is doing the paperwork to move away. Totally shocking “service”

"Appalling, Inept Service"
I am a chartered accountant and have had a SIPP with James Hay for many years. I decided to move my SIPP for cost reasons and started the process around March 2020. At today's date the process is not yet complete.

"Hooray!"
Hooray!
I have finally extracted myself from this company . I have run a business for 30 years and they were the worst company I have ever had the Miss-pleasure of dealing with . They took over six months to pay an invoice with my sipp account funds ( so not even their money) despite me requesting immediate payment on several occasions . Transferring my funds to another sipp provider was painfully slow like other reviews and unbelievably even for them they managed to transfer the funds not once but twice resulting in an overpayment of several hundred thousand pounds ! Get out while you can if with them if thinking of joining after these reviews you must be mad !

"Appalling company to deal with"
Appalling company to deal with. Lack of response, action, loss of valuable documentation and even after complaints no improvement. Standard letters saying "we are looking into your complaint", without ever asking for the details of what went wrong are sent out at regular intervals. Should not be in business. The management clearly have no clue as no one individual is effective or responsible.
