"Do yourself a favor and buy a SX550"

I upgraded to the SkyCaddie 550 from the sgx and wow what an excellent product. It last several rounds and the graphics are better than any on the market. Accuracy for me is the biggest thing and that’s why I stay with SkyCaddie. They could charge $300 a year and I’d still be with them because of how much this helps me in my tournaments.

"I have been trying to renew my…"

I have been trying to renew my SkyCaddie membership since mid-December for a UK based SX550. The website says it is re-directing me but never does unless you zoom out and back in on the screen. Even then I seem to reach a dead end without being able to renew. F'ing hopeless. Like the handheld SX550 but their inability to have an intuitive and operational website makes Sky Caddie a 'no go'

"Why the need to renew membership"

Trying to renew my membership is not easy.Why the need to renew? Apart from to get information about you and pester you to buy stuff! I have a Garmin watch and no need for membership. I’ll stick with my garmin

"Terrible Treatment of an Existing Customer"

I had a LINXGT watch and the battery died and could not be replaced. I was told I could get a $50 credit if I purchased a new watch. Yesterday I say a promo for the new LX5 for $189. I was told that I couldn't get credit for my old watch, but that I could get the trade in if I was willing to pay more for the LX5. They treat new customers better that a returning customer!!!

"This Company will not admit their mistakes and should be avoided"

I have given this Company one star because I could not give them anything less. I received an email inviting me to renew my long term Sky Caddie subscription so I clicked on the link and that was when the nightmare commenced. I spent over 90 mins trying to renew my subscription without success. I received a receipt saying it was renewed but I could not understand this as I had not been asked for any credit card details. Most of this time was spent on the online chat who confirmed several times I had renewed my subscription and would be receiving my activation code. I subsequently received notification that my renewal had not been successful. I contacted them and asked to make a complaint and was provided with a UK telephone no. I duly telephoned this number and spoke to 2 different people and got absolutely nowhere. I said in view of the amount of wasted time on my part due to their system error, I felt it would be appropriate for the charge of £29.95 to be waived which they refused. Because of this attitude I have decided not to renew my subscription.

UPDATE FOLLOWING RESPONSE FROM SKYCADDIE

The response from Skycaddie is simply incorrect. It would be better not to respond if you are not going to provide the correct information.

FURTHER UPDATE
I received an email today from the Company informing me they would no longer support my product and my only option was to spend a minimum of £179.95 to upgrade my Skycaddie. I duly telephoned their support and was told the likely date when my Skycaddie would become useless was July 2023. As my support contract runs until February 2024 I asked if I would be receiving a refund. I was told the Company does not give refunds. They told me 2 previous emails had been sent which is simply untrue. I gave them my email address so they could perform a trace and they were unable to locate these emails. I cannot begin to understand how you can sell a 12 month contract and not offer a refund if you cannot honour it. I am a pensioner, who lives to play golf, but the reality is I simply cannot afford to update my device at a minimum of £179.95. Besides which after the way I have been treated this year I would go elsewhere anyway as this is simply not the way to treat loyal customers. My advice, based upon my experience this year, is to avoid this Company at all costs.

"Utter nightmare"

Utter nightmare. Paid for 1 year subscription on their app. No connection, emails or anything. Complained on their live chat help and just got told to get a refund of google play!!!!
Must add that I never got a refund as Google play didn't have a clue, so I just ended up biting the bullet and paying again not through the app. 100 quid to use the watch for a year!!!

F this company! Skycaddie WAS great twenty years ago. Then the company got progressively worse!
When I updated my software in May of 2022, it stopped working. I bought a new battery. Same deal. I searched the internet and read these horror stories about SkyCaddie making legacy models obsolete through their so called "update." DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!

"DO NOT PURCHASE!!!"

this is what happened in my case, couple days ago I connected my SG2 to update courses, in the process something else got updated(firmware?) and after it completed and I got a confirmation email of the courses uploaded to my SG2 I turned on my unit and at the point where "play" needs to be pressed, I pressed it and the unit restarted. seems that it is stuck in a loop. customer support said "hardware issue, we give you $50 credit to purchase something else".Didn't offer to help fix or look in to the issue. I happen to have a second SG2, went thru the process of switching over, turned it on to make sure there was nothing wrong with it, and everything worked as normal. connected to download courses, everything good, got confirmation of email showing courses loaded to the SG2. turned it on and low and behold, same issue as the first SG2. by now I'm chatting with a different support person and that person happens to say the same as the first, Hardware issue" now I have 2 SG2s with same issue, how is customer support going to explain "hardware issue" on 2 different units the same day.??????
I still don't believe is Hardware issue if both units worked with out problems before the update!

this company has really gone down the tubes, also some time back, they promised that soon an update was coming out for their skycaddie app. its been 2 years now and no update!!!!!
as others have said, stay away from this company!!!!
if you want to try them out don't go past the 30 day limit for a refund because they wont even return a percentage of what you paid.

I've used Skycaddie and paid their membership fees for over 15 years. I have both an SG4 & SG5 which are fully functional, but I am unable to load new courses to them. After multiple chats with Tech Support, their resolution was to purchase a new unit from them at a "discounted" rate. They were unwilling to refund any portion of my fees. I have since moved on to a Golf Buddy which requires no membership and has similar features to the Skycaddie. The Customer Service at Skygolf is ASTROCIOUS!

"WHAT A CON. PLANS ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM"

Take care buying and purchasing plans with SkyCaddie. I have had a worldwide plan for more than 10 years and according to their website I can add 2 more devices to my account. Recently my husband bought a new SX400 and was given a free 12 month plan. However when he took this out he was not informed by Sky Caddie that this would prevent him adding his device to my account in the future. in effect they now want us to pay for 2 separate plans. In the past we have definitely added my husbands old 2nd hand sky caddie so they have changed their terms and conditions and not had the courtesy to advise me as a long term customer. I would therefore recommend others purchase a rangefinder and then you are not handcuffed to skycaddies dubious terms and conditions which are not made clear at the time of purchase or even on their website and advertising literature today. I will be escalating this to the Advertising standards people.
