"Avoid electrical items - HIGH RISK"

As many others have stated do not buy any electrical items from them unless you can go to the auction house in person and verify that the item is functional. They purposely make the adverts look like an item is in good condition, when the reality is that it should be going in the bin.
They stand firm behind the sold as seen statement and that it is your fault. Thankfully all I wasted was £65 but I will not buy from them again.

I bought some power tools from the auction site. No note on the description that they didn’t work and were actually in a dangerous state of disrepair. An electric belt sander started spitting out metal shards when switched on and another started smoking when switched on. This company have clearly been duping people out of their money for years and it won’t be long until someone is injured as a result of the lack of due diligence. I’ve written to complain directly but heard nothing. Don’t waste your money with this firm, daylight robbery.

I will never recommend buying any electronics.They advertise the item as fully working and the items are not working at all
I tried to contact them for an explanation on a potentially refund or return, but they don’t want to do it

Very disappointed with the service , as I have been buying from this site for sometimes, but recently I had one item was missing from my order and three items not working , (two of them the office aware of) but when I called the office they said they can't do anything for me and it's my responsibility.

Nothing but con men!
False advertising & lack of honest details makes it easy for this lot to get rid of items that belong on the rubbish pile. Ripped me off for £133 & have raised a dispute with officials of fair trading. They will try to squirm out by saying “sold as seen” but it’s an online auction & they have a duty of care to sell goods that work under the 1979 sale of goods act.
I will tan this as far as possible out of principal.

I bought 19 products from them for almost 300 pounds, I thought I'd sell them again, but it's impossible to sell a product that is already broken when it arrives, while trying it out, I realized that one device was from another brand in the box, at least one product was incomplete in the box, and there were some that couldn't be made to work! I will never buy anything from them again and I do not recommend anyone to buy from John Pye!

Do not buy electrical items. It's a massive risk. They do not tell you if it's for spares or repairs, so you assume that it'll be working. They cop out in their terms and conditions by saying you should view the item but nobody is going to do that if the site is 300 miles away! I've spent £250 on an item that does not work. When I contacted them, they basically told me it was my own fault for not checking it. I guess they're not breaking any laws so that's why they continue to get away with it.
It really isn't worth taking a risk with them, and looking at other reviews it's clearly a common issue.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with John Pay Auction. My order arrived with a crucial part missing, and when I called their customer service, I was met with unhelpful and dismissive responses. I even emailed them four weeks ago regarding the missing part, but received no reply. This lack of accountability and poor service is unacceptable. I would strongly caution potential buyers to think twice before doing business with them.

Third class. Scam. Site for selling broken tool without showing it. I purchased a vaccum cleaner from there. They have advertised really good photos withiut showing that clamp is broken. Machine is arrived now i can not take it anywhere as clamp is broken and its looks like it used at farm. Animal hairs on it.
