"Use at your own risk"

To be fair, their policy is that when there is an opportunity to see lots there's no refunds.

Given the item I purchased was electrical and subsequently unable to hold a charge that would have been hard to ascertain from a viewing, but lesson learned.

"Incorrect Item Description "

Item incorrectly described but if I make the 3 hour round journey they will refund me!!! No talk of compensation or collecting the item. Described as a gazebo turns out to be a gazebo frame only!!! A gazebo is made up of a frame and a canopy. Mindless robots in customer services typing standard company answers. I rest my case after the company reply below!!!

"John Pye auctions car no deposit refund"

This is some kind of farce, others have already told me, don't buy at John Pye auctions because they are cars of questionable quality
most often, when you win the lottery, you don't win, you just contribute to the business
This has already happened in many cases, I bought it for PLN 1,000
and I scrapped it for PLN 250 because the repair would cost over PLN 2,500.
I'd rather go to Copart for £100 a year I know what I'm buying
these are cars for auction checked by the organizer Copart
So it's time to open my eyes and move away from purchasing from you.

In the past, the refund of the deposit actually took 3-5 days
not counting weekends
now you're deliberately keeping my money
I pay you a deposit and you have it in your account at the same time
and it is difficult for you to do the same and you delay returning the deposit.
This will be checked by the Customer Ombudsman.

I must note here that your auction conditions are not fair because:
- I used to be able to look at a car intended for auction the day before - Tuesday (Bo'ness) and I could look at the cars in more detail
now there is only time between 8:30am to 10:00am on the day of the auction Wednesday
I have already bought two cars for this reason, which I did not thoroughly investigate
with hidden defects because I bought a Honda for about £1,000
and after a thorough inspection, it turned out that I had to add 2,500 pounds for the repair, so it was not worth it - and I lost money because I had to scrap the car for 250 pounds. Buying at your auction is a lottery.
This is just one example.
For a long time, my friends advised me to end cooperation with you
and they were right.
By ending my cooperation with you in the field of car auctions, I express my great dissatisfaction.
Now your staff is still playing with me regarding the return of the deposit - this will definitely put an end to further cooperation.

I am changing to a reliable auction company "COPART" where the cars are thoroughly tested, the engine is working and described, along with photos, for the benefit of the consumer - who pays and has the right to know what he is buying. And not the proverbial one with you
" cat in the bag".

That's why I'm sorry, but I can't continue working normally with you and I'm leaving with relief - so as not to suffer further losses.

Please instruct the financial department not to act maliciously regarding the return of the deposit. This is the way you treat customers that deserves punishment.

Of course, I will be sure to share my suggestions with the Consumer Ombudsman and the media, e.g. uk.trustpilot

"LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP (simples)"

To be fair to John Pye Auctions you have to read the text and view the photos "carefully" and make your decision, if in doubt do not bid. Yes, they are as fly as can be, and yes, you do have to watch them, but at the end of the day it is down to you. Do not let greed do your bidding for you. Unfortunately, lately the site has attracted a lot of people with less than normal common sense who bid ridiculous prices on items thinking that is all that they have to pay, no, there is buyers premium, postage, VAT. Sometimes it is cheaper to buy brand new from a shop than what some of these clever people bid. Recently saw a 3 piece Ninja cookware set on there, in brackets " 2 pieces missing". Some idiot was bidding £47 on it the last time I looked. I mean, really, I don't think there is much hope left for humanity if these are the kind of humans being currently spawned.

Do not buy from John Pye auctions they sell items that are OBVIOUSLY damaged but they do not state that in any of their descriptions and they then charge you tax and seller fee on that useless item and charge you an extortionate postage fee to send that useless item

We have used them a few times now for various things and everytime completely satisfied with the service received.
Just followed their guidance on purchases.

"Jenna from customer care was great, now we'll see if John Pye resolve my issue fairly"

I have been using John Pye for a long time, spend a lot with them, mostly good buys, recently bought a lot of items photographed in their boxes. Arrived, every single item broken so not happy at all. Jenna from customer care range me with 10 minutes of my complaint and is trying to help me get it sorted out and has given me her. But, we will have to see how John Pye resolves my issue as it is still ongoing. Hopefully they will be fair and accept that the items were listed unfairly and will take them back otherwise it is 100s in the bin, but I'll give them the time to resolve it before escalating it or I will have to stop using them.
