Lovely people, great service!

I’m new to the world of auctions, so I’ve needed a lot of support getting started. I’m sure the things I’ve been asking are questions that have been asked a million times, but the staff in Nottingham, Birmingham and Murchington have been approachable, friendly and knowledgable (haven’t been to the other sites, but don’t doubt they’re the same :0)

Particular shout out to Jenna in Nottingham today- really patient and took the time to sort out my delivery stuff- thankyou!

Honestly, if you never done auctions before, give them a look- have talked to a few of the other bidders on pick ups and everyone’s friendly, there really are bargains to be had and the canteen at Murchington’s pretty good too… beats trudging round a muddy car boot any day of the week!

They are scammer and Thief family as we bought printer Epson ET 2850 and they sent Canon which is so cheap the new one is £50

After 10s of electrical goods bought its usually on about 10% that actually work !.. and now ... I bought 6 identical items from one auction (all paid same day) and only 5 get sent ! THIEVES

Three times or more previous occasions I bought viewing pics and then when items arrive the boxes have 'faulty' written on all of them .. but no sign of any of this on the pictures !!

I called to complain and told about my experiences .. they told me 'don't expect anything to work' as they are mostly 'returns'. m a d

NOW A SCAMMING COMPANY. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
After years of buying, (I understand some things won't work if I buy them)
They have now introduced a 'SECRET' reserve that they don't have the balls to tell you about.
ADAM PYE, YOU ARE COWARD !!
At least show the reserve, like all other auction companies, rather than hiding it and making buyers bid against a robot.
Happens on nearly every item now. Bid and wait the 3 minutes, then after getting to zero, miraculously, the timer begins again after 1 extra second.
So obvious it's a secret reserve, so why not front up and be honest with your customers.
Cowardly behaviour and possibly illegal.
I will research this to see if it is illegal and report to the appropriate authorities if it is.
I have screen recorded this for 18 different items over a 4 week period.
It is not a mistake, it is deceit and dishonesty.

Bought a trade pallet which was described as over stock / showroom display the 4 items I bought were all smashed up fit for the tip
Contacted John pye and after 5 days told me it was a trade sale so no refund as per their trade policy

"Mixed Experience: Great Customer Service in Nottingham, Poor Treatment in Chesterfield"

I find John Pye Auctions quite addictive. However, I had a disappointing experience when collecting an item from Chesterfield. I bid on a set of pans which, according to the description and pictures, included a microwave, a boxed set of pans, and a wok. When I went to collect the item, the box was open and only contained the microwave and wok – the set of pans was missing.

I showed the issue to the warehouse staff in Chesterfield, but the person I spoke to was unhelpful and dismissive. He told me I should have checked the item before purchasing and refused to let me speak with a manager. Instead, he ignored me, saying he was busy and essentially sent me away. His rudeness and lack of customer service were unacceptable.

Frustrated, I called customer service in Nottingham. The team there was friendly and helpful. They reviewed the advertisement with me and acknowledged the issue. Thanks to their assistance, I received a refund for the missing pans. The Nottingham office restored some of my faith in John Pye Auctions, but I will try to avoid dealing with the Chesterfield location in the future.

The Chesterfield staff could benefit from customer service training to handle issues more professionally and courteously.
