"I wanted to do a 'trial run' with a…"

I wanted to do a 'trial run' with a special black and white snapshot from 1968 that has great personal significance to me. And I didn't want to send it away to India or somewhere. When I discovered ScanCafe, with it's US based processing center in Chicago and, to my surprise, also a location In Indianapolis just 30 minutes from me I decided to hand-carry it, give it to them for processing, and then go and get the original back when it was ready. That was an ideal solution. I was impressed with the positive and personal attention that this single photo received at the processing center and the friendly and helpful way I was personally treated by the staff - even though my total cost for digitalizing it was less than a dollar! I was impressed as well with the quality of the result. And with the *very* prompt attention given to a very small order.
This would have earned for me a five-star rating except for one thing: the navigation of the website was not very easy for taking a job into the center and picking up the originals afterwards. In fact I got a message saying that I owed them over $15 for UPS charges to have the original returned even though I had told them I would come and pick it up myself. That ended up being a glitch in their system, but a source of frustration.
I will now definitely go ahead and have a few hundred items scanned and am confident the end result will be good. But a bit more attention given to the on-line user interface would have made me 100% satisfied!
This is a good and trustworthy outfit!

Although the slide box is sent to ScanCafe was returned to me in good condition, I think a better job of packing it in the return box could have been done. There was very little packing material present in the box. The images that ScanCafe produced from my slides were fine so I have no problem there.
