Several media were transferred to digital formats, including some very old, 1940s era negatives. They came out profound. Slides, pictures, negatives, and some old VHS were all done as proposed and priced. Great communications and timely completion.

Quality of scans displayed for on-line review look good. However, after waiting a rather long lead time for their prepaid service, I was notified on 9/5 that the order was complete, balance paid, and would be finalized. 6 days later, UPS shows only label created, ScanCafe's on-line order tracking still does not show a picked-up or expected delivery date, yet ScanCafe today is already asking us to rate the experience.

How this company has received so many positive reviews on this site when its BBB rating is an "F" and other sites have them pegged at 2 or less out of 5 stars, is an absolute mystery to me. However, it's not unheard of for companies to hire PR firms to post fake reviews, offer discounts for positive comments or mine the general populace for positives. My review, however, is a strong negative. Something has happened to this company over the last few years. I purchased over $500 in gift cards for my wife to use completing the digital portion of our family photo album. We sent in about 1700 pictures of which 18 needed restoration. We received a quote and a bill to which I referenced our gift cards. We were advised that the cards could not be used for restoration, that this was a different operation. However, their restoration ad page has the Scan Cafe logo on the top. At the best, this is just another pocket in the same pair of pants. Added, there is absolutely nothing on their gift card page that shows any restrictions or limitations. I filed with their local BBB and learned that this business has an "F" rating. They refused to answer any of the 3 letters sent to them. My next option is small claims where they WILL answer for themselves. This is not a company that you want to deal with. They may have been good at some point, but not anymore.
