"Excellant customer care"

Excellant customer care, customer focus, friendly, accomidating.
Best of all the technology that allows extensive organization features.
i can only wish that micrsoft file folder manpiulatin would allow such felxibilty
i tried one Etsy provider with a small amount of slides as a trial.
You blew away the competition (if there was one)!!

"Not impressed with quality of the scans."

The ability to send in the old APS film and get it scanned was helpful. The quality of the scans, however seemed lackluster and quite fuzzy. The process was smooth and as advertised. I don't have any complaints about the process. Given the sharpness of the prints we have, I expected a bit more than what I got, which was about the quality of using the little Kodak Slide N Scan film scanner I've used.

"Elly and the Staff at Scan Cafe were…"

Elly and the Staff at Scan Cafe were EXCELLENT to deal with. I had over 12,000 photographs from my Mom and Dad who had recently passed away, some in albums, some loose, and the end product by Scan Cafe was GREAT!

Disappointed

"Out of Order"

The negative. I clearly labeled all my photo albums for the 3 orders I submitted. When I received my scanned albums back plus the scanned photos, I was disappointed because both my albums and my scanned photos were often out of order. There would be a picture of a birthday party, then a couple vacation shots, then another birthday photo. Further, some photos in my albums were reinserted up side down!! On the positive side, customer service is outstanding but what could they do once the damage was done except apologize? So if order is not critical, I would recommend this service. Shipping was prompt. Work done quickly. And as I point out, customer service friendly and responsive. But if order is important, I might look elsewhere.

"Forever Grateful For These Memories"

I shopped around to send in our precious family photo albums to be scanned. ScanCafe had the best prices around the holidays and customer service was great. All the pictures came out great and they enhanced a few that were looking really tattered. My family loved the photos as a Christmas gift and we are forever grateful to have these memories safely saved digitally now.

"Trust ScanCafe to Preserve Your Most Precious Memories"

I tested ScanCafe with one carousel of slides from about 55 years ago. They did great. The only disappointment was simply from the age of the slides; some of them had a buildup or blotches on the film, others were faded. ScanCafe has preserved them as they are, and their software was even able to improve the look a bit at no extra charge. (They offer a service to hand-adjust and clean up images, but I could not afford to pay extra.)

The next order included several rolls of 8mm home movies, a couple of reel-to-reel recordings, and more than 1,400 slides. As before, these are mostly vintage, dating back to the 1950s to the 1970s. The newer items are in better shape. These slides haven't been seen in decades, and now we are able to enjoy them again. One of the audio tapes had either been blanked or deteriorated to the point that they said they couldn't find anything on it to preserve. Some of the movies are scratched and faded. Some of the old slides are, again, blotchy because of age. My parents also did some of their own developing, and maybe their chemicals or the steps they followed were not as good as a professional developer. Still, it is a blessing to have them in a format we can enjoy and share today.

The only thing I would change is that, on this second order, I went through the slides, holding them up against a light to get an idea of what it was and jotting down notes; I also noted anything that was written on the frame of the slide (names, dates, locations). I moved them into boxes designed for slides in the order that I wrote the notes. Unfortunately, I didn't specify that they needed to be kept in a particular order. As I scrolled through the files, it was clear that they were not kept in order. I wish I had taken a Sharpie and written a number on each slide, or at least asked ScanCafe in the notes to keep them in order. It's not impossible to match things up, and I do have the original slides back, but it's making it a bit bigger project. So, if you want photos or slides scanned in a particular order, make arrangements with ScanCafe to ensure you will be satisfied in the end. I blame myself for failing to communicate.

I trust ScanCafe with my most precious slides, photos, and films. I will use them again and recommend them to others.

"Poor copying of tapes -refuse redo or refund"

I mailed them a book of tapes. Of the 22 double sided tapes , 14 had poor quality audio so that I could not hear what was being said. I had to listen to all the tapes to identify which are faulty. This is a waste of my time. And this happened before.
When I asked for a refund they refuse. They also want to charge me to redo their faulty recording!!!
What a scam.

"I am so pleased with ScanCafe"

I am so pleased with ScanCafe. I had almost 1000
35 mm slides from my deceased mom that they brought to life in digital form. They did an excellent job - the quality was excellent and the cost absolutely reasonable. I had so much fun and experienced so much emotion of seeing my childhood come to life. I would highly recommend ScanCafe for media transfers. You will not be disappointed.

"The company delivered as promised"

The company delivered as promised, on time and with high quality. I am impressed by how well the old prints (some going back to the 1960s) were translated into vibrant digital photos. My only criticism is that when I transferred the photos (which I had organized into seven batches) into Apple Photos, they ended up completely out of order, but I don't know if that is the fault of Apple Photos or not (or user error on my part). I wanted to mention in case the ScanCafe folks monitor these reviews and want to look into this and help their customers who use Macs. In any case, I highly recommend this company to handle your precious photos.
