"They have changed their Claim policy…"
They have changed their Claim policy and now you have to do a lot of things to be able to make a Claim, before was online and "easy" now there is a lot of things to do, calls, emails, fill up PDF and so on, just to force you to not finish the claim so then they do not have to pay you.
So right now I would not recommend it at all ( I would with the old policy but not now).
REPLY TO THEY REPLY
(because I can't reply apparently)
I understand that however this year I started two claims and I never get my money because the process was so long after the call and sending all the documents they also asked to fill up a way to long PDF form so after all the time that I had already spend I decided that it wasn't worth it , unfortunately at least for my last experience it was way better last year, let's see for the next claim that btw I'm waiting for a email or call back from last week (it didn't pass the 74h yet though) but will be nice to receive and automatic email saying that you have received, so maybe this time works faster and easier let's see I will put another review on that hopfully is how they said. If it is I will be honest and happy to do a good review.

"Fair, responsive and reliable"
I researched travel insurance extensively for a long travel trip and took out a comprehensive policy with True Traveller, taking time to read all the small print etc. I was very disappointed when I wasn’t covered for anything due to Covid-19, even though I took out the mid range policy with lots of add ons, but they were always very responsive and helpful on email whenever I tried to contact them from abroad. Tim (top guy and so knowledgeable at every stage from buying the policy onwards) helped me know my rights when contesting some flight refunds back from companies. I lost my sunglasses a few days before I had to urgently fly home. I couldn’t report them lost or contact the bus company where I might have lost them but I was told if I logged it with True Traveller on email that should be enough proof. It took me weeks when back to find the receipt and gather all docs. My claim was then denied due to no police report or proof of contacting the bus company. I contacted CEGA and they actually handled it wonderfully and really listened to why I didn’t have these things. I was in India and contacting the bus company was impossible and there was no police station for miles! They then processed a pay out for a portion of my sunglasses. Very thankful for what felt like a mature and fair handling of my claim. Would use True Traveller again for my next travels.

"Superb customer service"
Superb customer service - not the cheapest insurance, but worthwhile.
We purchased their long term travel insurance, whilst in Argentina, for their mid cover package. There were other cheaper insurers, at the time.
We found ourselves stranded in Argentina, due to the global lockdown and on two occasions True Traveller extended our cover by 31 days, ie 62 days in total, free of charge, in response to the CV pandemic.
We intend to obtain a follow on insurance, after this period, but wanted to share their customer services team were incredibly receptive and understanding. 100% for human contact and support, and 95% for value for money. There should be more companies like these.

"Highly Recommended"
I’ve been using true traveller for a number of years now and find it perfect for my needs. Fortunately I’ve only had to make one claim and the process was straightforward. I would recommend this service to any traveller, and will be my go to insurer in the future too.

"Happy with True Traveller after 4 years"
I have been using True Traveller for almost 4 years now. As a long-term traveller I need a stable and reliable coverage to feel secured while "on the road". So far I am very happy with True Traveller. Not only for having the ability to choose the fitting coverage to my needs but mostly for my experiences with claims. I already claimed around 4 medical expenses and 1 missed flight just recently and never had any issue with my claims. I am not one of those trying to claim fake incidents so for me it's very important I can rely on a quality service. Unlike some of other insurances I had they don't look for reasons to not pay my unexpected costs. So I am glad I can recommend True Traveller to the others. So far so good, keep on doing good job guys!

"When you have a problem, it's the moment you know how your travel insurace is."
We had to cancel a whole trip ( flight, hotels and transport reservations) because of medical reasons. I was amazed of how easy everything was with true Traveler. They responded quickly to our emails, and after proving all our reservations and the medical condition, we had our refund in a few weeks.
I won't get any different travel insurance in the future. True traveler has all my confidence

"disappointed in true traveller"
We have heard such good things about true traveller hence we are even more disappointed with how they’ve been dealing with our situation.
We have taken out a two year policy as we were planning to fulfil a lifelong dream of travelling the World. 11 months into the trip the COVID situation escalated and we had to fly home from South East Asia as borders to European citizens were closed and we couldn’t go anywhere else but home. We are now in lockdown in England and nobody knows when we might be able to resume our trip. So we asked True Traveller whether we could add those lost months at the end of our policy which they declined. So if we cannot fly into any other countries because borders are closed due to COVID, True Traveller will make money on our policy without us using it! The initial response was that the U.K. government didn’t suspend all travel but said essential can still happen. Even if you did see a holiday as essential travel it is impossible as the countries we wanted to visit won’t let us in (Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Nepal)! So are we supposed to find countries where we can travel to (if there are any) even if we don’t want to go there.
They then offered we could get money back for months not used but only if we hadn’t made a claim. We did have to make a small claim a few months into the policy. So again, we will lose one year of policy which goes straight into their pocket.
Communication was confusing and not straight forward. One customer service clerk advised we could possibly claim for our fight back home but another said no as we cannot use the policy to enrich ourselves. Basically implying we are trying to con them. He was actually quite rude.
All we wanted was for the months that we are stuck here in England to be added at the end once we can travel again, as this seemed to be the decent thing to do.
But at least we “can always pay for an extension once our two years are up“ as one of the advisers recommended. So not only will they make money on months not used but are also trying to get more on an extension that we wouldn’t need in the first place if they were decent. One of the reasons given was that it’s not their decision but the insurers (alliance I believe), but that still doesn’t make it right.
No, thank you very much.

"The best insurance for long trips"
Had to return from my trip early due to the virus. True Traveller processed a refund for the unused portion of my insurance within 48 hours. Incredibly quick at a time when other companies are delaying payments as long as they can. Will be using them again as soon as travel restrictions are lifted.
