"It took a month to process"

Below is the story but it has a happy ending on my side. Thanks now after all!! First I gave 1 star but after this hassle 4 star no problem.

Then why would you even pay for my tablet of compensating of the laptop is too much. Why people people buy new tablets if u keep compensating them? There was a water damage after a rain in a bamboo hut in my laptop, have to make a new claim then.

I’m just replying to your TrustPilot review on here, rather than on TrustPilot, to avoid causing any embarrassment as you have failed to understand how claims are assessed and met, even though it’s been explained to you a few times now, and we explain it fully in our policy documents and on the claims page on truetraveller.com.



For Baggage and Personal effects, all insurance companies will settle claims for accidental damage, loss or theft. You stated to CEGA "The laptop screen just stopped working suddenly, then had to order a new one, that happened just a month ago 10.7. Then the tablet screen was broken when someone pushed the table where it was on the restaurant in Dumaguete and it end up on the concrete floor, which broke the screen on 6.7"



So, the tablet breaking was accidental damage, but the laptop screen was mechanical breakdown. If it was the other way around, then the laptop screen could have been claimed for, but not the tablet.



To put it in simpler terms, if you insured a Volvo car back home in Finland, and you had a car accident, you could claim on your car insurance. If your Volvo was stolen, you could claim on your car insurance. However, if your Volvo broke down, you would have to take it to a Volvo Garage and get it repaired and pay for that yourself.

My response below because I want to keep this public...

I find that very patronizing, stereotyping and rude response as all of us in Finland are of course driving Swedish Volvos naturally. Even though I just now specified how my laptop screen broke down, water damage, I should be able to do a new claim,which I will do now. I forgot to mention also, that even thought this insurance targets backpackers it makes making a claim like from Dickens novel, u have ask a call back, lol, is this 1990? That is just to harrass people, so they dont make claims so easily. Where is your app? In Finland even my "Volvo" has a app inside so I can do insurance claim easily, with no efford.
Other words in the future I cannot recommend this company, because their attitude and claim procedures are not working properly, welcome to the digital age!

"Best insurance provider"

Best insurance provider, very useful during difficult COVID times as well! I travelled from the UK to Mexico for 3 months during August-October 2020, lived on a sailing ship and had filming equipment. It was super clear from the start what I get covered and what I don't and I'm super happy with this insurance provider!
Recommend it 100%!

"I was a victim of the pickpockets in…"

I was a victim of the pickpockets in Greece. My mobile phone was stolen in Athens, leaving me with no way to communicate and totally lost. In the middle of a situation where you feel blocked, True Traveller was super helpful. All procedures were effective and efficient and my claim was resolved in less than 24 hours after submitting all documents. I will certainly use this company every time I travel. Don't take any chances, travel insured. Saving a few pounds can mean something even worse during your trip.

"Positive claiming experience"

I suffered a light injury in the shoulder after a workout and waited several months before going to a doctor (thinking it would go away on its own). Long story short, it ended up with X-rays, MRI and physiotherapy. All which had a considerable cost.
True traveller took care of all the claims (although I had some previous smaller claims), for some of the major costs they paid the hospital directly, in other cases they send me the money back after a aprox a week of claiming.
I'm very happy this worked out well, while the customer service was very friendly

"Solid travel insurer"

Insurance was most comprehensive and competitively priced we could find for hiking in Nepal, and would use again for similar travels. Gave welcome peace of mind.
We actually ended up making a COVID-related claim on that policy for travel disruptions, through True Traveller, and received the full amount we felt we were owed. Claims process can be a little lengthy, as they take 5-7 working days per reply, but was settled in due course.

"The best traveller insurance"

Could not recommend true traveller enough. I had to claim due to one of my moles changing colour and turning out to be a dysplastic mole so had to get it removed. The process was very simple and went smoothly. A special thanks to Nathanial who helped me with my claim. Excellent customer service. I will always pick True traveller for my insurance in the future.

Truly the best insurance company you can get. The service provided by Matt, Elysia and the rest of the claims department has been first class. Their first priority is helping customers rather than reducing costs - how many insurance companies can you say that about? You can't go wrong with True Traveller. 100% recommend.

"Phenomenal service. Couldn't be better"

They were excellent, above the call of duty. I fell off a mountain, was in an induced coma and spent 33 days in hospital in Nepal. They covered everything and would only authorize my return home when I was fully well enough. Communication was great and I was relieved that I had been lucky in my choice of travel insurance. Excellent.

"Travel around the world - India"

We are in a long trip around the world, after I hit my toe and was afraid that it was broken, I got to the private clinic in India. I got to see a specialist and had an X-Ray photo done. I got a prescription for some cream and medicine, which I bought in the pharmacy nearby. After all that, a week later I called True Traveller and claimed the costs, everything was very fast and easy, I needed to describe the situation and send photos of the bill, after two days I got a full refund!
I would really recommend True Traveller! I hope that if anything else happens while we travel I could work it out same fast and easy.
