"We recently purchased a cover for our caravan"

We recently purchased a cover for our new caravan from Pretec covers, we needed to return it to them to have it modified to allow the solar panel to have a see through plastic section added. During the order process it seems wires got crossed and this was not part of the original order specification. However I contacted them and spoke to the very helpful Kimberley Davis who was absolutely fantastic in getting our issue resolved. We are really pleased with the cover itself as it fits perfectly and is very easy to fit, we are also pleased with the excellent customer service we received from Kimberley and in-turn Protec. I would recommend using Protec to anybody and the cover is great.

Although it can be fitted by one person, my wife and I still found it very easy to fit and we are in our eighties.

Very impressed with the communication and assistance to get me a custom cover made beyond their normal lead times for my journey to France. Got a little extra discount which helped but couldn't thank the guys enough for pulling out all the stops.
The product is very easy to fit (5 mins on my own) looks great and fits just as it should.
I would highly recommended Protec Covers to anyone wanting a great quality product at nearly half the price of others whilst actually being far superior too.
A massive thumbs up guys and keep up the good work.

"The cover is excellent, delivery not good."

The cover is excellent, it was the delay that was a problem. It said 6 weeks from order. We ordered it as soon as we bought the caravan and it took 13 weeks to arrive and in that time we picked up stone chips on the caravan, that could have been avoided if it had arrived on time.

Cover is excellant fits a treat well made , however there,s a lack of communication say will keep u informed of progress taking in mind it takes 6 weeks ,rang them to be told will ring you back was still waiting a week later for phone call .

"Easy to fit and good quality."

Our van is kept in storage and it suffered some light damage unfortunately. A cover seemed a good option to prevent any further problems and we wanted something easy to fit. Pro-Tec were really helpful and told us it would be a 6 week delivery time as the covers are made to order. This turned out to be an over estimation and the cover arrived in about a month. We have just put it on the van this weekend. It was easy to put on between my husband and I, and fits well. It looks both smart and robust and it made of a good quality feeling material, yet isn’t overly heavy to handle. The poles sent with it to put it on with are extendable and therefore easy to store. My only suggestion might be a hook on the end of one of the poles in order to help pull the straps under the van - I might add this myself! From first impressions I am really pleased and the customer service I experienced was perfect.

Very helpful .package came when they said it would. It fitted very easy and looks good. Instructions very God and it looks as good as I hoped. Excellent product.

I first enquired on a cover for my 2016 swift lifestyle escape 696 only to be told they don't have the pattern and unless I could send measurements they could do a visit or I bring it to them as I'm in the south the last to would be very costly. I was surprised as this model of motorhome was voted the best selling UK model for some years.
without going into too much detail it took technical drawings from Swift, measurements from Marquest motorhomes and my own measurements over many phone calls and emails to get the cover made. I now have the cover after some 9 weeks of emails, phone calls etc.
I received the cover in a large box, it was very well packaged and double bagged. the quality is very good and the straps supplied are adequate for the job, I cannot comment on its durability as I have only had it a few weeks but it fits the motorhome perfectly, the access doors and solar panel line up exactly. the cover also comes with very sturdy assistance poles so putting it on was a doddle. I cannot foresee any issues if installed correctly and all the straps are used. It looks very smart in the green but again time will tell how much it will fade under UV.
Would I buy from Protec again? Yes - definitely, but you have to respect that they are a small family run company and to make allowances - they offer a bespoke service for a reasonable cost compared to others.
3 stars may sound a bit harsh but a small improvement in customer services/ordering will give them the full 5.
I do recommend that you use this company above any other just make some allowances and the product will be worth it.

Excellent product, backed up by very helpful staff & service. We have bought from Protec previously, and the product fit is 'the best', and the main cover is very easy to fit, and remove.

The final product is well made and very easy to use - probably the best there is. The problem is the long wait between ordering and the cover being delivered. The original info said I would receive emails when my cover was in the cutting room, when it was being sewn and when it had been dispatched. This sound very good but I found that my cover only appeared to move between stages after I had emailed Protec for an update on progress. In fact it felt like they were "doing me a favour" in pushing my order up the queue each time - not very professional.
