From the first phone call with Tim at Eclipse we were confident they were an experienced professional company. Tim organised an amazing 4 week trip through Chile, Patagonia and Antarctica that was customised to our requests. At all times communication was excellent - including while we were overseas. Their travel partners in Chile and Argentina were also wonderful - we had 24/7 contact if needed, in English. The guides we had were friendly, enthusiastic and responded to any requests. Everything went just as planned, exceeding our expectations, and we had one of our best holidays ever. Thanks so much Tim and Leanne from Eclipse - we recommend you highly.

Re Eclipse Travel’s posting 23 December 2024 in response to my ‘Jack’ review originally dated 10 December and redated 23 December 2024 after Trust Pilot decided it met their rules.
As per Trust Pilot's rules, this is about my own experience with Eclipse Travel and not someone else's experience with Eclipse Travel.
At no time has Eclipse Travel disputed my claim that travel agents who receive commissions are the agent of the supplier (not the customer) and Eclipse Travel are liable for the actions of Eclipse’s travel agents in accordance with the common law of agency.

Here’s the history and background to the original review.
I am interested in travelling to Africa. I have been to Europe (UK, Med & Baltic), North America (USA, Canada, Mexico), Panama Canal, Asia (including Japan) and the Middle East. All paid for by me in full. I have been looking at reviews on African safaris.
When I wrote the first version of my review, I had not had any contact with Eclipse Travel. That changed and the review changed to include the ‘direct engagement’ we had.
Eclipse Travel claims it “has not had any direct engagement with [me]”. This is false. Eclipse requested I contacted them direct. I did. They responded. They have my real name and my direct email address. I have the emails.
I offered to negotiate a rewording to address their concerns. Ie I offered to work directly with them. They declined. Instead [Eclipse employee B] sent me the words I have quoted in my edited review.
Eclipse Travel has never asked me about why I posted the review. Instead, they have now wrongly speculated.
Here’s my reasons for the review:
When responding to a customer, Eclipse Travel (not anyone else) used the words ‘your travel agent’. That is wrong. I believe that Eclipse Travel, their customers and future customers are entitled to know the truth and why it is important. I used a real-life example to illustrate. Most people understand those examples better than legal wordings.
I thought it was obvious that it was not an Eclipse Travel trip experience. However, the words ‘your travel agent’ did belong to Eclipse Travel.
It’s as simple as that.
Eclipse Travel believe that I am targeting them for other reasons. That is a false belief. Eg I do not have any industry associations / connections.
I have not asked them to address any of the review. I would have appreciated Eclipse Travel acknowledging that my claims about who an travel agent represents are true. Had they done so, I would have revised my review (which I've done regardless) and considered a better rating.
Based on their concerns (which they keep repeating, except for the star rating issue), I did offer to negotiate the wording. They declined that. Despite that, I have, at Trust Pilot’s request, and my own instigation, made minor changes and updated the review.
Despite the edits approved by Trust Pilot, Eclipse Travel chose to lodge more complaints. Each time, Trust Pilot approved my review and reposted it. The currently edited review was reviewed by Trust Pilot, approved by Trust Pilot on 29 December and reposted by Trust Pilot (not me).
Eclipse’s first two response have been removed. I don’t know why, and I won’t speculate as to why.
I believe that the ‘lack of a customer relationship’ is debatable. I was a potential customer at one stage. Regardless and despite their denial, Eclipse Travel did exchange emails direct with me. They also made three responses, and I edited my review accordingly, despite Eclipse Travel contravening Trust Pilot rules.
Elsewhere Trust Pilot has allowed others to comment on the customer reviews of other operators without any interaction whatsoever with the operator. At least I have had the experience of interacting with Eclipse Travel and been able to share my experiences and make my own conclusions based on those interactions.

We were been really happy with Eclipse, even when our trip didn't go as planned! Blake organised our travel to South America, South Georgia and Antarctica in November 2024. Unfortunately, due to a mechanical failure on the ship, we never got to Antarctica. Blake and Eclipse were responsive when we contacted them about the cancellation of our trip 9 days in to a 19 day voyage. They took care of rearranging flights, hotel bookings and claiming back compensation from the tour company.
Even though we didn't get to Antarctica (this time!) we did, however, have some wonderful experiences visiting the subantarctic islands of South Georgia and Falklands. We definitely plan to go back to South America to see Antarctica and we have no hesitation in booking again with Eclipse Travel.

Daniel from Eclipse Travel recently came to our rescue when an Antarctic cruise we were on was cancelled at the last minute. He had no idea who we were but responded promptly to our desperate online contact trying to find an alternate cruise. His communication was prompt and thorough and he went above and beyond to help us. I will definitely be using his service again in the future I therefore highly recommend Eclipse Travel
