"Great little fridge "
Having just installed a BBQ hut in my garden I was keen to have a small drinks fridge to save going back and forth to the house( it's nearly 100yds away). This little fridge is perfect for the job. So much so, I have ordered a 2nd one, so I can stock it up during the day with food ready for the BBQ later in the day.

"Avoid- reported to Trading Standards"
My elderly mother took delivery of a SubCold Mini Fridge on 16.04. 24.
It failed to refrigerate.
She contacted the company by e mail on 18.04.24 to inform that it was not working, and to request a refund according to her statutory legal rights (first request for refund).
By return e mail of 22.04.24, SubCold ignored the request for refund and instead issued advice to try to resolve the issue.
On 24.04.24, my mother e mailed again to inform that the fridge was still not working, and to request she be refunded (second request for refund).
Subcold e mailed back on 25.04.24, again ignoring the request for refund, and instead asking for photographs of the product.
On 29.04.24 my mother e mailed the requested pictures, and explained that the product was still not working and asked to be refunded (third request for refund).
She was subsequently asked if the fan was working, and she confirmed on 01.05.24 that it was.
She was advised in response on 02.05.24, bizarrely, that the problem was the power adapter providing “electrical power from the socket outlet to your appliance”. This was quite obviously not the problem, as the company had already been informed
that the fan was working, and it clearly would not be in the event of power not being delivered.
My mother emailed the predicable news on 09.95.24 that the new power adapter it sent had not fixed the problem, and asked for the faulty product to be refunded (fourth request for refund).
Incredibly, she was advised by e mail on 21st May-
“I am sorry to advise, a refund is not
eligible. At point of purchase, the
terms and conditions are agreed
when making a purchase that if the
goods become faulty after the first
30 days return period this falls under
warranty for repair, or replacement
if unit is irreparable”
The goods were reported as faulty two days after delivery. The exceeding of the 30 day time period occurred due to the company’s fatuous and inept responses, and attempt to abdicate its legal responsibility to refund goods which it has been informed within two days of delivery to be faulty. This conduct is not only unacceptable but contrary to relevant Consumer Law.
I will, accordingly, be reporting this matter to Trading Standards.
I would urge consumers
A. first and foremost not use SubCold
B. Be informed of their legal right to refund in the event of receiving faulty goods
C. in the event of encountering sharp
practices by unscrupulous traders to
report it to Trading Standards via.
Citizens Advice Bureau.
