i found the website absolutely mystifying and i am not a luddite ... i ended up paying $215 for expedited service which i didn't even need ... i kept asking the chat bot to have someone call me and it said they would that day or the next day but it didn't happen ...

finally gisselle did ... and she was beyond helpful ... we ended up communicating by phone 4 different times (the last because the form, part of which was filled out in advance (not by me), had a mistake in my social security number ...

my sister had tried to renew her passport on line and just gave up and went to a post office which was a relative snap ...

it explains nothing, completion seems pro forma until it says forget what you have done and report to a facility to complete documents as required by law. in writing it offers standard application but when processing it is not offered. only more expensive timelines.
