"Very clean"

Very clean. Employees very nice. Good breakfast, however could have a little bit more options.

It was better to book directly with the hotel website because it offered a better rate, late check out for free and also a high floor room for free.

The hotel is very well located. Tram, bus and metro stations are within a walking distance, as well as a supermarket.

Highly recommended!

"A complete dump of a hotel, to be avoided"

A dump of a hotel, to be avoided. Sheets with large rips and holes in them. Vinyl furniture in entry falling apart with plastic peeling off it. Dirty lobby. No extra blankets or pillows in the room. Asked for extra blankets was told there were no clean ones available but we could have dirty ones if we wanted. Plastic peeling off the vinyl headboards of the beds. Coffee machine in the room was broken and unusable (leaked water everywhere). Electrical issues in the hotel. Bathroom mirror light didn’t work, asked for it to be fixed and was told they are all like that due to bad inverters used in the hotel bathrooms, can not be repaired. It seems owners are cutting costs everywhere at the expense of quality. Even the milk for breakfast coffee was significantly watered down making the coffee undrinkable. I would go on, but I think you get the point. This is a complete dump of a hotel. Do not believe the photos and descriptions on their website.

Localizado num sítio longe do centro tem dois edifícios . Se correr tão mal como comigo vão para um edifício que está em obras e todo sujo, com mau aspeto, parece uma casa fantasma. Limpeza dos quartos é como o tempo, varia entre o horrível e o bom. Podem ser acordados a qualquer hora com alarme de incêndio e nem desculpa vos vão pedir. Eu acordei às 2h da manhã a pedir para evacuar quarto e nenhum funcionário apareceu no momento e quando apareceu não falou, roncou sem pedir desculpas. Podem também tentar adivinhar um nome e fazer check in, visto que não há códigos e basta saber nome. De 0 a 10? 00000 pior hotel de sempre.

I guess it's the UK equivalent of a Travelodge/Premier Inn without an onsite restaurant serving dinner.

Possibly once a very popular and thriving hotel as it has a very large restaurant and very large bar area but unfortunately there is no longer a bar and the restaurant only serves breakfast. Seems like such a waste of really good space. Felt a bit odd to not have these facilities as, unless you went out of the hotel, you could only have a drink in the evening in your room - not quite the same.

The room was ok, clean and tidy. Curtain didn't cover full width of the window so you'd pull one end closed and it would leave quite a gap at the other end - had to use a bag to try and keep it pulled as much as possible. This did let in quite a bit of street light. Was nice to be able to open the window fully though.

Bathroom was nice and clean, nice shower.

Decent sized fridge in the room which was handy to keep your own beer and wine in.

We asked to borrow a fork one evening as we'd bought a cold snack meal from the supermarket. Apparently it's their policy to not let you borrow a fork. After much pleading and promising of returning the fork immediately upon finishing eating (which we did) we were allowed to borrow a fork from their restaurant.

The tram used to stop outside the hotel but the line is currently being worked on (Oct 24) so you need to walk 12 minutes or so to Sloterdjik Station to get anywhere. It's an easy walk. Good location to get to central Amsterdam in just 5 minutes on the train or a bit longer on the metro.

Probably wouldn't stay there again as it felt a bit like it was becoming a ghost town (the hotel, not the area) but it served a purpose.
