"Exchange window around Christmas time is too short."
Blue Nile's 45 day return policy is not realistic for Christmas. I purchased a ring for my wife the first half of November because I was concerned of things selling out in advance of Christmas. Then when she tried it on Christmas day, the ring was too big. We called the next business day after Christmas to coordinate an exchange but were denied because it fell outside of their 45 day window. I believe 45 days is too short of a window around Christmas time, especially when customers try to buy gifts in advance. 90 days is more realistic and especially in years when there are supply chain issues.

The online process of buying the wedding band was easy & shipping was good too. The problem I have is that the quality of the ring is terrible. Within a few weeks of wear, the band started to scratch badly. We’ve only been married for 2 months now and my husbands band looks like we’ve been married for 52 years because of the visible scratches it has.

My wife and I and our extended family have been customers of Blue Nile for some time now. We all will continue to return to Blue Nile for the large variety of jewelry options and the exceptional service for the life of the jewelry.
Our most recent transaction was returning a bangle for service. Blue Nile Customer Service Rep Amanda then called me to discuss the servicing of the bracelet as well as other possible options. We reviewed the options Amanda presented and found another couple of bangles that my wife liked. Amanda then went to work, reviewing each of our selections, with the pluses and minuses of each as my wife has a very small wrist which makes selection difficult.
Ultimately Amanda helped us select a perfect replacement, coordinated the credit from the original purchase and made us feel very comfortable with our new purchase as the new bangle did cost a bit more than the original. Amanda was timely with her correspondence, extremely knowledgeable about the jewelry and repairs, friendly on the phone and made us feel quite relaxed in our purchase. Exceptional service again and we will be back to Blue Nile.
