I purchased a 3+ carat diamond engagement stone and had it set in our own setting. I also purchased a pair of diamond and pearl earrings as a wedding gift.
The staff at Blue Nile were outstanding. We were never in question as to when, where, or how the diamonds were going to be delivered, nor their authenticity with all of the GIA certificates provided.
Our local jeweler was awestruck by the quality and pricing BN was able to provide.
To say the purchases pale in comparison to my beautiful bride, is an understatement the the enth degree. Nevertheless she is elated with our purchases and BN has made me look like a hero. Captain America, look out! You have nothing on me in her eyes!!!!

"I would not recommend this company"
I would not recommend this company. The initial order (an engagement ring) which my fiancee and I placed went smoothly. However, that was it.
Two weeks after starting to wear my ring the diamond had completely changed in its appearance: a white spot became noticeable in the center and the diamond lost its sparkle. After unsuccessful attempts to clean it at home I brought it to the store. Foster was helping me in the store. She attempted to clean the ring with their equipment but the diamond still looked awful. She agreed with the inappropriate look to the stone and took the ring to be sent for cleaning/repair.
Needless to say that I never saw the ring again. After two long months of me calling the store and customer support for the updates I kept hearing promises that my ring was being worked on. The problem solutions suggested by their "jewelry experts" went from that I should accept the ring as it was and be more careful wearing it (really?) to changing the ring head as the old one did not allow for the sparkle/for proper cleaning. Alright, it was eventually decided to go with a new ring head. However, another month had past. Foster was almost impossible to get a hold of. Neither my phone calls or emails helped to get any update on the repair process. She also miscommunicated the whole issue to the people in charge of repairs, which we found out way later. She and customer support agents were completely incompetent and never followed up after I called multiple times. In the end, 2 months out since I returned the ring to the showroom, I ended up being told by one of them that the new ring head could not be placed for an unknown reason. I could not take this nonsense any longer and requested a refund which I am currently still waiting on.
This was the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Not to mention sketchy quality of their jewelry pieces (I never learned the real reason for my ring to suddenly change its appearance). Stay away. It is not worth your time, money, and nerves.
