"A disappointing experience "
We’ve just come back from our motorhome holiday in Canada with Cruise Canada who are part of the Cruise America family.
We’ve used Cruise America in the past in the US but this was our first time in Canada.
We picked up in Calgary and it’s fair to say there was no customer care. Every staff member was sour faced, no smiles, no welcome, no ‘Enjoy your trip!’ Nothing… which was a little surprising given the welcome we had received in the US. The van was clearly very old, full of dents, and it had obviously suffered a leak which had been patched up on the outside with water damage and mould on the inside. The interior was tired and old. The flooring was damaged, the curtain rail in front of the bed in front of the bunk bed kept falling down, internal trimmings kept falling off, no shower curtain, the taps leaked every-time we used them which flooded the bathroom and kitchen work surfaces, the external lockers wouldn’t lock as the key snapped in one of the lockers within the first few days with no spare and to cap it all we never had any hot water. Given that we were staying in National Parks this proved tricky as we had to keep boiling the kettle to wash and wash up meaning we used our propane far quicker than we wanted to.
When we returned the van we saw a different staff member - again, absolutely stoney faced - no interest whatsoever in our trip or the issues with the interior or hot water. She just shrugged and literally could not have cared less. Given that every staff member had the same attitude I guess this comes from the management down.
It didn’t spoil our holiday but it definitely put a bit of a dampener on it and I don’t believe the van was worth the money we paid given all the faults and damage inside. Such a shame given how happy we were with the van we collected in New York a few years ago.

The cancelation and refund guidelines were clear and I will 100 percent be likely to book again with cruise America. We had a family emergency and had to cancel. Knowing that a business has clear cancelation policy that respects the fact that sometimes plans have to change is very important. Thank you.
