"Do not book anything with this company"

Do not book anything with this company. It seems like a good deal at the time but the aftermath has put an absolute damper on the whole Iceland experience. No only did the home made 'bed' in our VW Caddy break the first time we tried to use it, the company sent fake photos of a small scratch that we apparently made on the car.... only 1 month after we had dropped it off. This email accompanied a bill for repairs at almost 2000 euros. My boyfriend first disputed this, as we made no damage to the car, then cancelled his creditcard and ordered a new one... another month later he had a charge of 1800 euros to Faircar... even the bank had no idea how they managed to charge a card that was cancelled. Absolute filthy fraudster thieves! We bought the full covered insurance, but it took a further 2 months, then Faircar refunded the charge, and then charged us again, a different amount and this time in USD!? We did get the money back after maybe 5 months of angry emails and ridiculousness both from Faircar and their insurance provider. I have no idea how this company remains in business with the amount of fraudulent complaints. I think they do it to every second person which is why not all their reviews are terrible, either that or it's fake reviews. Disgusting.
PAY A BIT EXTRA AND BOOK WITH A REPUTABLE COMPANY!

"Faircar has gone above and beyond…"

Faircar has gone above and beyond expectations to make sure they delivered good customer service to me. I was a first time customer and Faircar was able to accommodate my unique needs. They gave me a reasonable price for my travel experience through Iceland. I would recommend their service above others.

"Price-performance really good"

Price is really good. Customer Service gives you reliable answers and is overall helpful.
Pick-Up at airport was a bit difficult because there are no signs of 'fair car' at all. Our flight had a 30 minute delay, so the pick-Up-Service drove back.
We searched for any signs at the airport but couldn´t find anything.
We called the customer service and then they explained everything and they picked us up. All good.
As we gave back the car at 4 am we were brought to the terminal with no further addue.

"The worst car company ever"

The worst car company ever. They lie, they tell you you have made damage to the car when you are back in your own country. They probably damage the cars on their own while 'cleaning. Even though I have bought an insurance they still take the credit. Also a deposit of € 3.000,- is way too much since the car we rented was not even worth € 3.000,-.

They do make quiet a good impression at first, but don't let that take you off guard. Rather spend some extra money on a proper car rental company instead of these liars.

"excessive damages claim and poor working condition"

NOTE FAIRCAR IS TRYING VERY HARD TO REMOVE HONEST REVIEWS THEY DO NOT LIKE
first the battery was dead, the stove did not work and then they charged us for damages we did not put on the car. When we had a flat tire fixed, watching the process they claimed we allowed the garage to substitute an inferior tire-- not the case. They refused to inspect it when we returned it and low and behold two weeks later they ask for $2,000. of damages. When Visa determined their claim was non- compliant they used a collection agency to go after their claim of damages, with no indication of course that they fixed anything - even though they were not our damages. -SCROLL DOWN A BIT ---THERE ARE MANY WITH SIMILAR EXPERIENCES

"We had a great experience with FairCar"

We had a great experience with FairCar during our trip to Iceland! The car was perfectly clean when we arrived and was 100% reliable during the entire trip. The people at FairCar ensured that our stay in Iceland went smoothly by informing us about weather and safety-related websites which was really nice of them to do. They explained everything clearly so there were no surprises. We would rent from FairCar again without hesitation. They are great people!

"Always a great experience!"

Just came from my third trip to Iceland and my third time with FairCar and always a great experience.
They are always waiting for me in the arrival hall when I arrive and provide me with great vehicles.
This time I came in the winter and they had studded winter tires on my car, it was very important as roads was covered with ice and snow.
Looking forward for my next Icelandic trip, I am totally in love with Iceland.

"DO NOT RENT FORM FAIRCAR"

If you are traveling to Iceland, DO NOT RENT FORM FAIRCAR! There is a great chance that this company will scam you like they did to us and many others. Unfortunately, we didn't read the numerous online bad reviews about FairCar rental until after we had a bad experience. At first, we arrange a meeting on the Reykjavik airport. They had to pick us up with the rental car. Nobody showed up. We waited for almost 2 hours at the middle off the night and called them 3 times after they finally came. The service was poor, no apology no information, nothing. We had a great week in Iceland but nightmare begins after we returned the car. We made sure to return the car as they told us to do. They were again late for about an hour. Imagine the stress when we had to go to catch the plane. Again, no apology or further info. During our rental period we did not have any accidents or something else which would cause any damage to the car. They got the car and the keys but did not provide any documents although we asked for it.
After we got back home and 5 days passed, the rental car company FairCar e-mailed claiming that there were additional scratch on the car caused by me. They even sent some pictures showing the scratches. I replied that I did not cause any scratches or similar things and added that claiming such an issue after 5 days is not legal and logical. The scratch on the pictures they sent was so small that it would not cost that much.
In spite of my refusal of causing such scratches, they charged my credit card for €€938. Choosing to rent with FairCar during my time in Iceland, turned my vacation into a nightmare.
