"I would mark no star if I could"

Purchased lawn scarifier / aerator. Had problems changing blades and as no u tube asked company. Was sent a video link but also saying not your model which just about panned out the next 5 months. With an exchange of over 100 emails 15 different case file numbers, each time I replied new file opened so it looked as previous had been resolved. Just wanted to purchase a spare plastic bracket and 2 screws. Have never come across such inefficiency. I even wrote to the director who never even acknowledged or replied so like all companies it stems from the top.

"Having had a fault with my lawnmower"

Having had a fault with my lawnmower, the communication received from the support team was excellent. They arranged for collection, repair and return without fuss. The machine was back with me in around a week and good as new. I was kept up to date at all times. An all round excellent service - well done!!

He made sure I was kept updated of everything that was happening and made everything run smoothly.

"Cost Over Product Safety... Buyer Beware..!!"

I purchased a Hyundai 50L silent compressor in December 2021 from Genpower Ltd with 2-year warranty. After only been used only a handful of times and just over 6 months out of warranty, the check valve on the top of the tank failed under pressure. The tread to the check valve brass cap failed shooting the brass cap 12 to 14 ft across my garage, luckily it didn't cause injury, but it easily could have. On inspection it was evident this was a manufacturing / assembly defect so regardless of the 2-year warranty still covered under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for free repair due to defect.

When I contacted Genpower Ltd, explaining the situation and sending photos of the defect and proof my compressor was in “as new” condition they would not entertain repairing the item due to its defect at no cost. They were adamant that as it was out of warranty, they would only repair it at my cost for the repair and shipping. After several conversations I there was no movement, and they were not interested in my consumer rights or the legislation, and more worryingly that the failure was a safety issue that could have caused serious injury. This was until I went to Citizens Advice, who advised I was correct, and they were legally obliged to carry out the repair, at no inconvenience to myself, they were also concerned that Genpower failed to acknowledge the safety issue caused by the defect so have referred it to Trading Standards, so hopefully Trading Standards will take this up with Genpower, when you buy a product you expect it to be safe or at least fail to safe should it malfunction.

Genpower Ltd, agreed to carry out the repair but I had to ensure it was correctly packaged to be couriered back to them, and they would not supply any packaging. Once packaged I had to send pictures to them for them to agree it was suitably packaged before they would arrange collection. The turn around was in around a week, which I can’t complain about, but I will complain about the return carriage. The item was strapped to a small pallet, and wrapped a couple of times in shrink wrap, with no other protection. One of the bandings had slipped and the compressor legs had fallen between the pallet slats and either whist in Genpower or the courier the paintwork on the handle had become damaged. Damage that wasn’t there when it was shipped from me to them.!! I have emailed, no response, I expect no interest.!

If you are looking to purchase anything from Genpower Ltd, my advice is I wouldn’t waste your time, there are far better companies out there who would love your business. Genpower customer services are appalling, they have only repaired my compressor through gritted teeth, as I forced their hand. If they hadn’t, I would have taken them to court. They have no scruples putting cost over safety, they have no interest in your safety, or in your consumer rights, which proves they are not a trader to be trusted.

After reading many of the Genpower reviews on Trustpilot and after my experience, all I can advise is, if you are in the market for new and safe power tools or equipment, you might be best advised to give Hyundai tools a miss, along Genpower Ltd. Sad really, as someone who lives in Wales, I’d have expected much better from a company based in Pembroke Dock.! If I could give 0 stars I would....

Buyer Beware, think before you buy from them, will it be worth the hassle..!!!!!!

Please, Rukshal if you are thinking of responding to my review, rather than the normal “please reach out to us” or “if there is anything more we can to assist you” etc. Perhaps you should be reaching out and contacting us to resolve our issues with your products and your company. You may not get so many negative Trustpilot reviews if you address your poor customer services.

"Returned a tool under warranty. Nearly 4 months, still no tool, no refund. "

At the beginning of May I returned a JCB cordless tool to them for repair under warranty. After 1 month I'd heard nothing so I contacted them. They said they were unable to repair it so would send a replacement. Again nothing happened for a few weeks so I contacted them again. This time they said they had no replacements in stock so would refund me the purchase price. That also has not happened. Almost 4 months have passed, I have no tool, no refund, and no idea when or if Genpower will get around to doing their job. I have no confidence in them. It's a shame - I have several JCB tools and when JCB used to handle their own warranties I never had any problems.

Edit, following Rukshal's response. Spoken like a true politician, a random answer that in no way relates to the issue. "We understand that the machine did not entirely meet your expectations"??? The machine is not the problem - sometimes they will fail, that's why there's a warranty. The problem is that Genpower are not competent to meet any obligation under the warranty. They can't repair, they haven't got parts. They can't replace, they have no stock. They can't refund - they have no money? Sounds very much like a company about to go out of business.

"Fantastic Result"

Generator not starting, reported the problem to Genpower, was assigned Kieran as my tech support, can't fault the service I received, was able to get generator started without the need of a visit from a mechanic.. fantastic service.. personal thank you to Kieran..
