"Easy and smooth process"
We were first time buyers so had no idea what the process was like. We were expecting it to be chaotic and stressful but it was the opposite. Hannah R and Oliver C kept me up to date and answered any questions I had very quickly.

"Very efficient and helpful service! ☺️"
I am very happy with the service I have received from direction law. Emily, Ashley and andrew who I have dealt with have been very efficient.
It was a smooth Process buying my first home. I was always kept in the loop and up to date. Text messages were very useful when things were received and completed. I never had to chase and if I had any questions my query was always dealt with quickly.
I would 100% recommend them to anyone in the future.
Thank you direction law ☺️

"Great Service, Great Price."
Direction Law's representatives were helpful, reliable, approachable and affordable. Every situation was explained to us in great detail so as we could make the most well informed decisions. Being able to understand the process in such a way really put us at ease and took some of the stress out of buying our home.
Would happily recommend and use their services again.

"Direction Law Review"
Direction Law's business comes from being listed on Housing Association's panels for Shared Ownership resales, where they are usually the cheapest option. Because of this, many unfortunate first-time-buyers end up choosing Direction Law.
The damage and consequences of this can be felt along the whole chain.
At time of writing, Direction Law are the lowest rated firm for almost all relevant categories on Trustpilot. Their work is characterised by
- ignored communications & uncontactable fee-earners
- failure to acknowledge receipt or completion of documents after multiple resends
- disrespectful attitude to other party's solicitors, estate agents, and their own clients
- the pretense that other parties are to blame when it can be proven otherwise
If Direction Law are involved into your transaction it is wise to inform all other parties in the chain, as any initial timetables will probably no longer be feasible.
The two parties most directly affected by Direction Law (the buyer and seller) should open up a direct line of communication. This will allow them to update each other truthfully, and prevent the firm misrepresenting the progress and deflecting blame for their own incompetence.
It will not be easy; Direction Law are the worst rated firm on Trustpilot for good reason.
Authors' experience (highlights only):
- Initial stage - 2.5 week delay at the start caused by DL 'not receiving' the draft contracts. Proof supplied by sellers' solicitor that it had been sent. No contact from DL during this time.
- Enquiries stage - astonishing incompetence during the enquiries stage. Weeks of silence from DL following responses to enquiries. An inexplicable cycle of requests for "outstanding responses" that had already been supplied. One particular document sent four (4) separate times.
- Towards the end of the transaction - repeated requests to confirm exchange date and completion ignored.
- On proposed Exchange day - despite receiving client's paperwork in the morning, completion was not confirmed until 16:55. This gave the six-party chain just five minutes to confirm, which obviously failed. Completion date delayed by a week.
The author was not a direct client so will likely receive the response that DL are unable to "identify the transaction to investigate further". No credence is given to this response as they have neither the resources nor inclination to do so.
Conveyancers deal with people's lives and net worth every day, and they should be held to a higher standard than an average administrative business. It's very important that dreadful firms like Direction Law stop operating like this, and do better.

"Helped me quite a lot but the process…"
Helped me quite a lot but the process of getting the house was longer than expected and at the end when I had sent deposit I got through a big payment for the solicitors which I didn’t realise was going to be that big.

"Unbelievably poor service"
Unbelievably poor service. People cannot believe the level of service we have recieved. We are trying to sell our property with them for 7 months and we are still having issues.
We have been assigned at least 5 different fee earners on our case. They do not answer their phones, they do not update you and it really doesn't feel as if they take you seriously.
We have already lodged official complaints via the client services email. These are not taken seriously again, and in no way resolved. We've even been in contact with their senior partners who don't seem to care. We decided not to go ahead with using them for our onward purchase. After 4 months of instructing them they have done NO work on the case I just wish we had instructed a new firm for our sale as well.
I have very little confidence in this firm for the remainder of our sale. I will not be surprised if our sale falls through and I find it hard to believe our buyer's have waited so long. I will be issuing complaints to the legal ombudsman and would encourage others to do so because this firm should not be allowed to operate.
