I called Chris at Secure Data Recovery while I was crying about my external hard drive giving up (I had over 3 million files on it) He was so personable and really encouraging me that everything was going to be okay - I called Seagate before that since my external hard drive was on warranty and they told me they wouldn't guarantee all my files back. I honestly could not be so thankful or helpful. My external hard drive was near to worse possible situation and they STILL managed to get 98% of my files back AND in a super fast, timely matter. I inherited a server running on old hardware with about 2TB of data on it. While moving the data to a new SAN volume the server had a failed drive and ate its RAID configuration. I shipped all the drives to Secure Data Recovery and they retrieved all the data from the drives and returned it to me. Great service overall, very responsive, and the turn around time was good. Not cheap, but well worth it in the end.

Let me say that Secure Data Recovery saved us in a significant way. Like many of the other stories here, we had a complete hard drive failure (BOTH mirrored hard drives from one of our servers died). Two hours of tech support with Dell and they gave up. Then I found out our backup software stopped backing up (just this server) in July. So we’ve lost 3 months of documents, a crippling amount for our business. My last option was the service offered by Secure Data Recovery. Less than a week after sending them our data, we got an external drive overnighted back to us with a 100% recovery of all the files from the failed hard drives. The process was actually easy. I had a 1TB hard drive crash that was the only backup of decades of photos, documents, etc. I was initially wary of sending my data to an unknown company I had found online, but once they received it I received incredible customer service from Rob, who communicated with me efficiently and knowledgeably throughout the whole process. Though it ended up being an expensive repair according to my budget, based on the research I did it seemed entirely aligned with other services. One of the best customer experiences I have had with any company.

I was super nervous sending my hard drive in for data recovery, as I had never screwed up bad enough to need it before, but everything worked out amazingly. My rep was Alec and he was absolutely amazing to work with. He was very patient with me, and answered all of my dumb questions. The folks at SDR were able to recover all of the data I was hoping to get back, and shipped it back extremely quickly. Hopefully I won't need to use a data recovery service again, but if I do I'll go with SDR (and probably ask for Alec again).
