"It was a well organised holiday"
It was a well organised holiday with a good, experienced leader. Good activities fill the days. All I had to do was turn up at the right place at the right time!

"Opera Verona"
Opera Verona
Fantastic trip from start to finish made possible by our team leader Richard who managed the whole trip with humour and immense patience. Loved the way one travellers get together at the Heathrow hotel broke the ice.
The extra experiences on top of the opera were very special the vineyard experience the food and wine were first class.Lake Garda was beautiful and made better by Richard’s local knowledge.
So to the opera experience.Collected by cars and drivers taken into Verona for excellent meals both evenings in restaurants next to the Arena. Seats in Arena were in a great place for views of the stage and acoustics also for watching the beautiful people in the stalls. Collected by car afterwards too even though, because of the rain, we were very late.
Then our flight home was cancelled by BA because of the computer glitch Richard and the company stepped up to the mark and arranged 2extra nights in Bologna which was an added bonus as it’s a beautiful city.
Only down side for me was the position of the hotel in Verona it was too far out to walk into the city especially for older people and it meant negotiating a very busy stretch of road.

"Verona Opera Festival"
I felt the group was too large and lacked diversity. I wasn’t a fan of the numbering system which was intended to place guests in different seats during evening meals. In my case this didn’t work as I found myself seated beside the same people at all but one meal? Whilst I appreciate that the badge and numbering approach may be reassuring for travellers who have never been on a solos or group tour before for me it felt a little like a school trip. Many of the travellers on this trip were not solo travellers per se but were travelling with a friend.
Hotel Leon d’Oro was a little disappointing in respect of its location. It was stated as a short walk to the historic centre, it was however a 20 minute walk to the centre of Verona. I had an issue the air conditioner which was dripping water down the wall in my room. I reported it to reception, and someone did come to look at it much later that evening. However, it was still dripping water at the end of my stay.
The seats for the two performances in the Arena di Verona were in an excellent position. However, the seats are unbelievably uncomfortable even with a cushion so I would probably recommend upgrading to the second sector stalls with the upholstered backrest and padded seat. Restaurants on the nights of the performances were good and well placed for the Arena. There was however an issue with the shared table wine on the second night when one guest helped herself to an over generous glass of wine leaving others on the table with none.
I very much enjoyed the Valpolicella winery tour with lunch and wine tasting.
The delay as a result of the IT Microsoft issue was quite well managed. Unfortunately, I was one of 10 accommodated in the Michelino which was not as comfortable and lacked some of the comforts and amenities of the Sydney Hotel next door. I appreciate however these were unusual circumstances.
The guide Richard managed the group well. He was very personable and provided an interesting narrative throughout.

"Perfect for Solo Mature Travellers, with whom their Tour Leaders are well acquainted and have longtime experience of dealing with."
I would thoroughly recommend this Company. They specialize in organising holidays for solo travellers in the over fifties age bracket.
They carry this out to the letter, and as a result once you sign up to a holiday with them, you are free to enjoy the holiday, with no stress regarding travel arrangements, holiday requirement details, deciding upon places to visit, and where to dine. In fact at most evening dinners you will also be guided as to where to sit, as all holidaymakers are seated with different members of the group.
Tour leaders are experienced, professional, and well able to deal with whatever issues the holiday is faced with.
Our tour leader was excellent in this respect, and ensured continuous communication regarding changes we may experience, in a very calm but upbeat manner. This relates to the Oxford holiday I went on in July 2024

"Enjoyable holiday especially Bletchley Park"
Enjoyable holiday especially the day at Bletchley Park and the boat trip and excellentpicnic on the Thames in Oxford.
Hotel was very comfortable and well located within a short walk along the river to the centre of Oxford. The evening meals were good though I did not appreciate being reallocated a seat!
It was unfortunate that Blenheim Palace was not open to the public that week and this should have been known by One Traveller well before it was announced to us. Instead that day we had a good walking tour of Woodstock delivered by a specialist guide but then we visited the most touristy and crowded villages of the Cotswolds which was not as interesting. However the stop at the 3000BC stone circle ended the day on a positive note.

"I've travelled with this company for many years now…"
I've travelled with this company for some years now, both in the UK and Europe, and have recently completed my 15th holiday with them.
Their attention to detail is great and from the first contact to book a holiday to the holiday itself everyone is really helpful and friendly. The tour managers are very efficient and sociable too, and I've also met lovely people in every tour group.
I wouldn't book a holiday travelling alone with any other company. My next 2 holidays are already booked.
One Traveller isn't the cheapest company to travel with, but you only get what you pay for and in my experience of them they are worth that bit extra.
