"Perx - Don't do it!"

Perx – People and Businesses - simply put – Avoid. We are a small business- We have attempted to buy the infamous Perx cards over an 18-month process. Not 1 effort has been smooth! When followed up with Perx by telephone, which not one call was ever answered, going around in loops or told to email – which too, were never responded to.
When, eventually I did get a reply – the chaps at the other end always told me it was me, my fault and your fault…. Never their issues.

Quick enough to removed the funds from your bank account – not so quick in delivering the goods!!! Deception!

The Financial Ombudsman and the Irish Central Bank really need to investigate this company / policies because, we all cannot be wrong!!!!!

I finally demanded my refund which did follow after 5 weeks but I had to jump up and down before the chaps in Perx Ireland finally conceded that, yes, it was all my fault!!!!!!!

Save yourself a lot of unhappy time, effort and frustrations. Go down to your Post office and get a one for all voucher!

"Scam?"

Scam?
Perx took money out of my account under the name of Easylife. I discovered this after checking my bank statement. I had made one purchase from Easylife and emailed it to see what the second one was and, if an error, to refund my money. Easylife did not reply but Perx did, apologising for inconvenience caused and saying my money would be re-funded within 7 days. I now have to check my next statement for the refund and do not intend to make any further purchases from Easylife as it seems to be connected in some way to Perx. My advice, do not have any dealings with either firm.

"Using a €50 Perx card"

I tried using a €50 Perx card to purchase diesel a couple of weeks ago but the card didn’t work.
I called Perx customer service and the customer support person told me that the card was blocked due to too many failed efforts & that he would clear the card & reset it.
This evening I attempted to use the card at another filling station & again the card failed
Such an embarrassing and frustrating experience at a store where I’m well known.
I really felt like a conman.
The Central Bank of Ireland should ban the use of Perx cards until they are deemed to be fit for purpose because they are well short of the mark at the moment.

"Scam"

They steal your money claiming it’s a maintenance fee! Maintenance for what, they don’t help so you can use the money on the card and slowly take £2 a month off your card. The customer service team are fed up and sound like they need to go home and sooo unhelpful. I have emailed them and they still are no help in using the balance so they will continue to steal the money till there is none left.

"The support is shocking"

The support is shocking, just get passed around - agents sound uninterested and lack knowledge.
Business cards are asked to ring sales to get support - you will likely get a message and be told to send an email, emails take weeks for a reply. You can leave a message, but to mailbox is full each time.
Terrible - don't do - use a different card company.

"Customer support and website are horrible"

Customer support is horrible. Their portal was designed without thinking someone will use it. Everything is unclear. You can't solve anything without support and often support is out of reach as well.

"Perx cards not widely accepted"

Absolutely ridiculous how restricted the use of this card is. EML Perx claim that this card can be accepted anywhere that accepts Mastercard, this is not accurate and is misleading. A large number of retailers have POS machines which cannot swipe cards rendering the Perx card useless as a payment mechanism. The card needs to have a chip and pin function to actually be accepted anywhere that accepts Mastercard in my experience. I would think you are better off being taxed on 1k rather than having the hassle and embarrassment of being randomly unable to use this card.

"My employer gave me £100 as a reward"

My employer gave me £100 as a reward, but found it hard to use for online payment and some shops here didn't know what to do with it as does have a PIN.
I forgot about the card and now most of it has gone in £2 a month fees. Absolute rip off. I have made sure my company will not be using these cards in future. Do touch these cards.

"Perx owned by Easylife"

Perx magazine is owned by Easylife, they received a £130,000 fine on 4 October 2022 for being responsible for over 1.3m unsolicited direct marketing calls, which is a breach of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

The director Greg Caplan is running a company which has many negative reviews if you search online.

My parents receive unwanted marketing information after buying from their magazine. I have had untold trouble in trying to get the magazine to stop.

"PERX CARDS CANNOT BE USED"

My first perx card was for 250 euro and whilst travelling in Europe I was able to spent some of it. I now have a balance of 139 euro on this card that I cannot spend.
My second card of 500 euro I got in Dec 22 and kept it to spend it in South Africa, but might as well throw it away because I cannot use it anywhere.
My advice to employers is not to waste money in buying these cards as we are very flattered by the guesture but cannot spend the money - the perx card company is making a fortune by keeping the unused monies.
