"They are worse than being a Vanity…"

They are worse than being a Vanity Press they are SCAMMERS! I'm only glad I didn't pay them $5,700 up front to produce my poetry book; a huge amount of money. But I have been suckered into paying them $1,000 for their non existent 'Book boost publicity & promotion' package nearly 3 weeks ago with not a word back from them.
I live in the UK, I've tried filing a complaint against them thru the BBB: Better Business Bureau, the US equivalent of our Trading Standards, I tried filing my complaint online yesterday but kept getting the 500 error message instead, I even tried to share a review on there but kept on getting the error message back.
I'm at my wits end, I don't want to let them get away with it but I don't know who else to turn to now for help?

"Quality literary products and exceptional author experiences --"

As an author published through Atmosphere Press, I'm a bit disappointed with published reviews at time of my submission through Trustpilot -- both in quantity and substance.

Most publishers and literary agents ask two fundamental questions in the submission process: Is this person already famous? Are they already selling [something] to an identifiable target demographic? If the answers are yes to both, then one might expect publication. Otherwise, expect a struggle and years of effort with limited support. Rejection notifications come in weeks or months, and sometimes never -- as you and your work are not important enough to bother letting you know that nobody cares. Think about it... if you've been down this road, then you know! And if not, here is an anecdote: JK Rowling was rejected 12 times after crafting much of Harry Potter narratives through spectacular pain and suffering, so her story goes --

Atmosphere Press is building something different. Their team is exceptionally gifted, competent, compassionate, and kind. Atmosphere Press works closely with authors to craft amazing products at nearly double the pace of traditional publishers. A Phoenix Saga audiobook narrated by Emily Woo Zeller and Katie Hagaman is spectacular and available across all relevant platforms, including Audible and Spotify! Check it out -- decide for yourself.

Favoring transparency, a 4-star review indicates that Atmosphere Press is still learning, growing, and navigating a publishers' business space, where commitments to their founding mission map to consistent integrity-in-action and incredible authors' experiences.

We will certainly work with Atmosphere Press for our future works --

"This is a vanity press looking for money "

After reading reviews that confirmed Atmosphere Press as a vanity press that demands money for publishing, I hesitantly decided to give it a try. I contacted them and met all their demands, even sending a sample of my manuscript. Despite their impressed response, I couldn't shake the feeling that they were just a vanity press. Nonetheless, I continued playing along and responding to their emails. One day, I received an interesting email asking how much I was prepared to contribute financially. Without hesitation, I selected the option of no contribution. The very next day, I received undeniable proof that Atmosphere Press is indeed a dubious publisher. They stated in their email, and I quote, "We received your Next Round Consideration Form, and we loved everything you had to say. Our publication packages require a financial investment, though, and because you stated that you do not want to invest in this project, it seems we might not be the best fit for you. Is that correct?"

If you are seeking traditional publishers, I strongly advise against wasting your time with money-seeking companies like Atmosphere Press. Rest assured, if your book holds value and is deserving of publication, it will eventually find its way without any financial burdens. Keep searching for authentic traditional publishers.

"They do not read your manuscript, they just want your money."

Congratulations on taking nearly nine (9) months to reply to my review!!!
Proves my point don't you think?!
============
I submitted two manuscripts today.
I received an email within a couple of hours saying "Glad to hear from you! I saw you resubmitted your book, and I was happy to see your name in the queue again. If you're interested in pursuing publication with our hybrid publishing model, schedule a chat with me, or send me a note, about making this book a reality!"
So it was immediately apparent that they had not read my submissions; it would certainly take longer than the time it took them to reply.
They simply want you to arrange a chat so they can talk you in to paying for your publication. I cannot see how it can be read any other way.
They want you to pay.
I replied and told them it was not a resubmission.
They replied "Got it! I will take a look......."
So it confirmed my belief that they don't give a monkies about your work, they are not a serious publisher and cannot be trusted to evaluate your work.
Extremely disappointed, but more fool me for thinking they would take the time to read my work and consider publishing.
Their marketing emails are full of false hopes.
Very disappointing.
If they choose to challenge this review, I would be more than happy to discuss it with them. They had my number, but never called, so why should they now?!?!
